Overview
FinOps is no longer the responsibility of a few SMEs but everybody in the organization. As customers decentralize the responsibility for AWS spending to the individual product teams and their management, core processes must be in place which FinOps Center provides. At month close, FinOps Center generates files for integration to Core Financial and FP&A Systems.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Installation of FinOps Center has 3 steps. • Step 1 is the configurations of services in customers’ AWS Estate and the setup of the “CloudOps” account as documented in https://docs.finopscenter.com/en_US/installation . Once these pre-requisites are complete, customers will install their FinOps Center subscription from the Marketplace. • Step 2 is subscripting to the software, Customers will select Configure the software from Amazon Machine Image in the drops down and continue through the following page selecting the version and region which you would like to install. On the Launch this Software screen, Select Launch through EC2. Prior to Launching AMI we recommend navigating to IAM in the account and create the IAM role documented on https://docs.finopscenter.com/en_US/aws-marketplace-installation/ami-configuration-and-stack-launch to be used when launching the instance. As the EC2 instance comes online, navigate to S3 and wait for the bucket – cdk – hnb659fds-assets--us-east-1 to appear. • Step 3 is Launching the Cloud Formation Template and Completing the Parameters. From the cdk S3 navigate to the FinOpsCenterStack.template.json and copy the Object URL. Navigate back to Subscription Management Screen and launch the CloudFormation Script (Object URL) to configure your FinOps Center with the Parameters for your environment following the instructions at https://docs.finopscenter.com/en_US/aws-marketplace-installation/stack-configuration .
