    Overview

    This product is an adopted version of DBeaver Community Edition for AWS environment. This is the official product from the DBeaver team. DBeaver Community is a free, open-source database management tool recommended for personal projects and everyday SQL work. Use it to connect to multiple databases, run queries, browse schemas, and view or edit data from one interface. Key features include broad database support via JDBC (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SQL Server, Oracle, and many others), an SQL editor with syntax highlighting and auto-completion, a data viewer/editor with schema browsing, and ER diagrams to visualize database structure. This AWS Marketplace offering is delivered as an Ubuntu-based AMI to help you get started quickly in AWS. You can connect to cloud and on-prem databases, including AWS services such as Amazon RDS/Aurora and Amazon Redshift, using standard endpoints and drivers.     An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Version release notes

    AI assistant:

    • Added support for custom AI instructions. Custom instructions can be configured in Preferences and used alongside the default instructions.
    • Added support for using Copilot with GitHub Enterprise accounts.

    SQL Editor: Improved performance when executing multiple SQL queries simultaneously.

    Data Editor: Added the Percent of Total function in the Grouping Panel.

    Data Transfer: Added the ability to export fetched rows without querying the database. This setting is available on the extraction settings step.

    Task Management: The Save Task button was moved to the same row as the other action buttons.

    Connectivity:

    • Added connection configuration import from pgAdmin.
    • Renamed the Database Native authentication type to Username/Password. Added an internal connection information page to the connection edit dialog.

    Miscellaneous:

    • Added the ability to open DuckDB and MS Access files via File - Open in the main menu.

    Databases:

    • ClickHouse driver was updated to version 0.9.5. Fixed multiple issues with data type reading and presentation.
    • Denodo: driver version was updated to 9.0.
    • DuckDB: updated driver to version 1.4.4.0

    Usage instructions

    1. Launch an EC2 instance from this AMI.
    2. Ensure your Security Group allows inbound RDP (TCP 3389) from your IP address (recommended: restrict to your IP/CIDR).
    3. (Optional but recommended) Allow inbound SSH (TCP 22) from your IP for maintenance and troubleshooting.
    4. Connect to the instance via an RDP client (Windows Remote Desktop / Remmina) using the instance public IP/DNS and port 3389.
    5. Sign in with the OS user ubuntu. If a password is required and not set, connect via SSH using your key pair and set it (sudo passwd ubuntu), then use that password for RDP login.
    6. After login, the desktop is available and DBeaver Community Edition starts automatically. If it does not start, launch it from the Desktop shortcut or application menu.
