    NETSCOUT Virtual nGeniusONE

The NETSCOUT Virtual nGeniusONE for AWS is a Service Assurance platform that provides real-time visibility into the performance of business-critical applications such as web-based applications, voice and video communications, database, financial, or other services by analyzing wire data as it crosses the network, on premises or in the cloud. nGeniusONE with NETSCOUT's patented Adaptive Service Intelligence (ASI) technology leverages this wire data to generate "smart data" for smarter analytics to assure performance, manage risk, and facilitate superior decision-making regarding application and network services. The nGeniusONE platform delivers valuable macro-level insights into the status and performance of enterprise-wide services, application components, individual hosts or groups of clients or servers. This expands the IT architect's understanding of service consumption patterns, application component dependencies, and overall user experience to better support resource optimization and capacity planning. Powered by ASI technology, NETSCOUT's highly scalable Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) engine relies on wire data to provide real-time, contextual analysis of network and service performance, availability and quality. With these insights, nGeniusONE can provide customers end-to-end visibility in complex physical, virtualized, and cloud-based deployments, allowing enterprises to regain visibility into business-critical applications and services even in difficult to instrument locations.

NETSCOUT optionally collects license information at time of product deployment.

    CloudFormation Template (CFT)

AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

Robust Performance Monitoring, Needs UI Refinements

    Reviewed on Mar 04, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like using NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability because of the real-time analytics and packet-level details it provides, which help me pinpoint root causes and reduce guesswork during outages. The end-to-end visibility is crucial when handling critical apps, and I find it valuable to clear paths during downtime. The ability to analyze traffic beforehand helps me a lot in managing traffic spikes and slowdowns. Mapping applications and tuning alerts are pretty easy, making these processes less tedious. Plus, NETSCOUT has more features, better visibility, and enhanced troubleshooting capabilities, which were factors that prompted my team to switch from our previous tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the Dashboard and UI lacking. I wish there were separate views for NOC, app teams, and management, as well as better widget customization and a unified timeline graph. The cost is also a concern; it'd be great to have improved licensing options and resource optimization. While mapping applications and tuning alerts were manageable, they weren't entirely effortless. We had to spend time validating traffic flows to ensure the right services were grouped and correlated properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use NETSCOUT to monitor network traffic, troubleshoot performance issues quickly, pinpoint bottlenecks, detect outages or anomalies, and correlate network traffic with application behavior, reducing time spent troubleshooting.

    Fast Troubleshooting, But High Cost

    Reviewed on Mar 01, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I use NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability to understand what's happening on my network and how applications are performing. I really like how it accelerates troubleshooting by correlating packet-level insight with application and network behavior, which significantly reduces Mean Time to Knowledge and Mean Time to Repair. This tool provides faster root cause identification, which is super beneficial. I also appreciate the fast troubleshooting capabilities it offers, even in complex networks. The initial setup was easy and clear.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the higher cost compared to alternatives a bit challenging. NETSCOUT's pricing is more enterprise-oriented and less transparent, unlike modern alternatives like Datadog or Dynatrace that offer more predictable, usage-based pricing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
NETSCOUT accelerates troubleshooting by correlating packet-level insight with application and network behavior, reducing Mean Time to Knowledge (MTTK) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
