Simplifies Monitoring with Unified Data, But Room for Improvement

  • December 07, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A single-vendor approach which reduces complexity, and ensures consistent data and insights across the entire infrastructure. This helps fragmented monitoring environments with multiple incompatible data sources.
What do you dislike about the product?
The overall solution is quite costly and can be complex to implement. Additionally, it is resource intensive because it relies on packet-level data, which may introduce overhead on the systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Root Cause Analysis is extremely useful for operations teams, making it easier to diagnose complex problems that span both network and application layers. The platform's scalability is impressive, with a robust architecture that can handle everything from remote locations to large data centers. Additionally, the use of consolidated probes contributes to improved energy efficiency by reducing overall energy consumption.

Reliable real-time network and application monitoring

  • November 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ of the things that I like most is the way it shows a full picture of our network and application performance live. Without making any guesses or digging through multiple tools, I can pinpoint the exact location where issues are occurring. The dashboards are very clear, and I can tailor them to concentrate on the metrics that are most important to me. Also, I am very much into the alert system — it gives me a prompt notification if there is a malfunction, thus, there is a great saving of the downtime.

Another thing, I like it is how it is instrumental in problem-solving, thus, I can find out the main reason without support waiting. Our tool, in conjunction with the systems we already have, works well, hence, everything is kept in one place. Also, I am into the in-depth reports which are very helpful when explaining network performance to management.

In general, it is a strong platform that makes the process of monitoring very much easier and less ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌stressful.
What do you dislike about the product?
One‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ thing that I struggle with is the fact that it can be quite a time-intensive task to actually set up all the dashboards for monitoring at the very beginning. There are some advanced features that are not very straightforward, so you have to do some trial and error. Sometimes, it could be that alert notifications are a little too much if a lot of events happen simultaneously. The interface is something that could be improved in terms of being more modern especially when you are moving from one section to another. It took me extra time and effort to make certain legacy systems work properly with the new integration. Mastering all the reporting instruments is a process and especially new members of the team will find it challenging. Also, it can be quite costly if you want to have all the features unlocked. However, it is still extremely great to use as a tool for network stability despite these minor ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
NETSCOUT‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ is the solution I needed to get rid of the downtimes caused by network and application issues that were unpredictable. It used to take us hours to figure out the cause of a slow application or a service outage, but now we can pinpoint the problem source very quickly even if it is in the network, server, or application layer. Moreover, by revealing trends and patterns over time, it also facilitates the prevention of issues going forward. In addition to that, communication with management has been greatly enhanced; the reports bring performance and investments into view in a simple way. The tool acts to reduce firefighting, as trouble spots are found at an early stage, thus saving both time and relieving pressure. Besides that, it supports performance and capacity planning. In short, NETSCOUT has been the instrument that has made network monitoring quicker, more accurate, and much more ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌dependable.

Proactive Insights and Unified Visibility for Complex Environments

  • November 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Data Approach stands out from other observability tools by focusing on packet-level data, rather than depending solely on MELT (metrics, logs, events, traces) data. Its proactive troubleshooting capabilities provide valuable insights into both network and application performance. The unified visibility it offers is especially beneficial for maintaining observability in complex environments, such as multi-cloud or edge computing setups. Additionally, the ability to correlate IT experience with business outcomes allows for a more proactive approach, helping to resolve issues before they affect users.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cost of the Overall solution and the Complexity in implementing it.There is also a steep learning curve as i requires Specialized knowledge on Packet level.
It cannot be easily intgerated with other tools which captures MELT data so unified view might be harder to achieve.
It is also resource intensive as it uses Packet level data which can cause overhead on the systems
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Bridge the gap that many organization face in hybrid complex infrastructure where the teams use pointed tools in silos and move away from traditonal Monitoring(MELT) which can still have blind spots.Netscout can solve slow troubleshooting by identifying the cause of the issues using packet data from traffic flows.
Correlating theNetwork/Application to Delivery helps in IT teams to understand how it affects customers

I really appreciate the packet-level visibility provided by NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability, as it allows me to see exactly what's happening across the network and applications in real-time. This capability is crucial for effectively monitoring performance. The root cause analysis features are also outstanding, making it much faster to identify and resolve issues, which is a critical benefit for maintaining operational efficiency. Additionally, NETSCOUT excels in providing end-to-end service monitoring capabilities across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This is particularly useful for monitoring sales applications and supporting distributed teams. Overall, the combination of these features ensures comprehensive visibility and efficient problem resolution, helping to improve the user experience across various technological landscapes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the complexity of setup and configurations challenging, especially for teams without deep network expertise. This can be a significant hurdle during the initial implementation phase. Additionally, while NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability provides valuable insights, the integration with other IT tools could be more intuitive and automated to minimize manual intervention. A more user-friendly interface for dashboards and reports would also facilitate quicker data interpretation across environments.

Powerful Network Insights, But Steep Learning Curve and Complex Setup

  • November 20, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We appreciated how easy it was to use Netscout to access information about our network usage and any issues that arose. The tool is capable of pinpointing where slowdowns are occurring, and often makes it straightforward to track and resolve these slowdowns or disruptions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Netscout can sometimes feel overwhelming and complicated, especially if you're looking for a straightforward solution. The setup process tends to be lengthy, and the user interface isn't always intuitive, which can make navigation challenging. Typically, some training is required to fully utilize its capabilities. While it's a powerful tool, this level of complexity might be excessive for smaller teams or for those who only need to handle basic troubleshooting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This software eliminates the constant guessing about why something is slow or malfunctioning. By gathering real-time data from both the network and applications, allowing you to pinpoint where an issue originates—be it the network, an application, a server, or a cloud service. The main advantage is the speed and clarity it provides: you waste less time following false leads, resolve issues more quickly, and maintain smooth operations without relying on multiple tools or unnecessary steps. In essence, it reduces the noise and delivers the essential facts.
