Real-Time Insights with a High Cost
What do you like best about the product?
I like the real-time visibility and deep network insights that NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability provides. It helps me quickly identify issues and downtime, which speeds up troubleshooting. This ultimately improves performance, reliability, and the overall user experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
High cost and complex initial setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability for monitoring and troubleshooting. It helps me detect and analyze network and application issues quickly, providing real-time visibility and deep insights. This speeds up troubleshooting, improving performance, reliability, and user experience.
Robust Performance Monitoring, Needs UI Refinements
What do you like best about the product?
I like using NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability because of the real-time analytics and packet-level details it provides, which help me pinpoint root causes and reduce guesswork during outages. The end-to-end visibility is crucial when handling critical apps, and I find it valuable to clear paths during downtime. The ability to analyze traffic beforehand helps me a lot in managing traffic spikes and slowdowns. Mapping applications and tuning alerts are pretty easy, making these processes less tedious. Plus, NETSCOUT has more features, better visibility, and enhanced troubleshooting capabilities, which were factors that prompted my team to switch from our previous tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the Dashboard and UI lacking. I wish there were separate views for NOC, app teams, and management, as well as better widget customization and a unified timeline graph. The cost is also a concern; it'd be great to have improved licensing options and resource optimization. While mapping applications and tuning alerts were manageable, they weren't entirely effortless. We had to spend time validating traffic flows to ensure the right services were grouped and correlated properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use NETSCOUT to monitor network traffic, troubleshoot performance issues quickly, pinpoint bottlenecks, detect outages or anomalies, and correlate network traffic with application behavior, reducing time spent troubleshooting.
Fast Troubleshooting, But High Cost
What do you like best about the product?
I use NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability to understand what's happening on my network and how applications are performing. I really like how it accelerates troubleshooting by correlating packet-level insight with application and network behavior, which significantly reduces Mean Time to Knowledge and Mean Time to Repair. This tool provides faster root cause identification, which is super beneficial. I also appreciate the fast troubleshooting capabilities it offers, even in complex networks. The initial setup was easy and clear.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the higher cost compared to alternatives a bit challenging. NETSCOUT's pricing is more enterprise-oriented and less transparent, unlike modern alternatives like Datadog or Dynatrace that offer more predictable, usage-based pricing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
NETSCOUT accelerates troubleshooting by correlating packet-level insight with application and network behavior, reducing Mean Time to Knowledge (MTTK) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
Comprehensive Monitoring with Some Setup Complexity
What do you like best about the product?
I like its deep packet visibility, real-time analytics, and precise root cause analysis that significantly speed up troubleshooting and ensure consistent network and application performance. I also appreciate its scalable architecture, intuitive dashboard, and accurate service dependency mapping that enhance visibility across complex, distributed environments.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup and configuration can be complex, and the licensing model seems to be expensive for smaller teams. Need to improve it for better and ease in usage
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability for real-time monitoring, packet analysis, and proactive troubleshooting. It helps quickly detect and resolve performance issues, reducing downtime and improving user experience by offering deep packet visibility, real-time analytics, and precise root cause analysis.

Comprehensive Monitoring with Real-Time Visibility
What do you like best about the product?
I use NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability primarily for performance analysis and traffic analysis. It helps us quickly identify and resolve network and application performance issues. I really like that it shows packet visibility properly and provides real-time monitoring, which makes it easier to identify issues. The packet visibility allows us to see exactly what's happening in the network, making it much easier to identify the root cause of any issue. We also use it with ITSM to create tickets for any incidents, which makes tracking easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find its user interface a bit hard for new users, and for smaller teams like us, it's a bit more expensive.
