User-friendly management. The features support straightforward configuration, easy application mapping, and intuitive alert tuning. It also helps identify performance degradation and traffic spikes early, before they disrupt end users.

What do you dislike about the product?

Observability expenses can scale quickly, so they need close oversight to balance data fidelity against overall budget limits.

The platform feels heavy and is built primarily for large enterprises, which makes it less practical—or cost-effective—for smaller networks that can tolerate brief link disruptions.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Eliminates visibility gaps across multi-cloud, SaaS, UCaaS, hybrid, and remote environments where traditional tools fail to reach.

Analyzes application performance and slow SQL queries via network traffic without requiring direct server, code, or database access.

What do you like best about the product?

I love that NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability provides a comprehensive and integrated view of network and application performance with the ability to quickly and accurately identify the root cause of issues. I appreciate how it connects network performance with business applications and user experience, making troubleshooting more efficient and reducing the time spent on these processes (MTTR).

What do you dislike about the product?

Overall, I find NETSCOUT very powerful, but some aspects could be improved, such as simplifying the user interface and reducing the complexity of setting up some components, as well as providing more flexible and customizable reports and dashboards. Additionally, improving integration with some cloud and other monitoring tools and simplifying the data analysis process could make the solution easier and more efficient for daily use.

NETSCOUT helps me understand and experience network and application performance in an interconnected way, quickly identifying the root cause of issues, which improves efficiency, reduces problem-solving time, and enhances application stability.

What do you like best about the product?

performance: Netscout company having their own hardware which is making their solution very compromised and lead to a high performance solution capability: their solution has a very detailed capability in the Telecom industry covering all KPIs needed by any telecom operator a powerful value to keep your Telecom network fully monitored and making sure that it is healthy with high quality and giving confidence after any change deployed on your network that it is monitored and can be assessed

What do you dislike about the product?

UI/UX: at time using their solution back at 2018, the UI/UX is outdated and not very user friendly and should be much more modern. Infrastructure: they have their own hardware and infrastructure which lead to high operations and maintainability and if they did not, they can think migrate their solution to cloud and to be cloud native

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

- As an OSS solution used by telecom vendor, so its monitoring for the telecom network performance is very crucial for the Operation network team to make sure their network is healthy and there is no network severe disruption and also maintain the network quality. - As a core network engineer at that time we were heavily depending on it to observe network and monitor it for any action, upgrade we do on the network to make sure that all our network KPI are normal

The deep insights into network performance, packet loss, DNS, network latency, connections, and infrastructure are invaluable. It significantly reduces investigation and analysis time, which helps us fix production incidents faster.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find the complexity of NETSCOUT overwhelming due to the amount of available information. I think it would be better if the information were more organized, as there is a learning curve that can feel tricky for new users. Additionally, I would appreciate an integration between NETSCOUT and other DevOps tools for a more seamless experience.

I find NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability provides visibility into performance, availability, and network behavior for apps and services. It reduces investigation time with fast root cause analysis and deep insights into network performance, packet loss, DNS, and latency, helping fix production incidents faster.

What do you like best about the product?

I like the deep packet visibility and smart correction in network and application data of NETSCOUT Network & Application Observability. It provides the root cause of issues effectively. This feature saves us from manual troubleshooting as it gives us the truth in packet data and connects the dots instantly, allowing us to fix issues in minutes instead of hours. I also appreciate the packet level detail and smart correlations, as it offers granular forensic data and hybrid cloud visibility that we couldn't get with Solarwinds.

What do you dislike about the product?

The UI is not very intuitive and the learning curve is steep for new users. I think modernizing the UI, simplifying onboarding, and fine-tuning default alerts to reduce noise out of the box would be improvements. The initial setup was not plug-and-play and required significant planning and tuning, but manageable with proper preparation.

I find the platform has a learning curve for new users. I think some dashboards could be more intuitive, and I would like report customization to be easier. Simplifying the dashboard layout and providing additional pre-built report templates would make the platform easier to use and reduce the time needed for new users to get started. Although the initial setup was fairly straightforward, configuring advanced features and customizing dashboards takes some time.

The main drawbacks are high cost and complex deployment, with a steep learning curve for managing and interpreting the vast data. The interface can also feel dated.

End to end observability it offers with wide security. Netscout helps in integrating both our day to day work to connect to our workspace securely and also to deeply observe our application from any threats. So one place solution.

Netscout smart data might be helpful in capturing various unseen or easy to miss data points, still the overall cost of observability makes it a hard thinking choice

The main drawbacks are the steep learning curve and the complex configuration. It’s hard for someone new to the system to set it up and get started, so a walkthrough becomes important.
