This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for a secure, ready-to-use Redmine 7 project management and issue tracking server. Plan projects, track issues and log time for your whole team, with unique passwords for every instance.
Redmine is an open source project management and issue tracking application. Teams use it to plan work, track bugs and tasks, keep project wikis and record time across many projects at once. This image gives software teams, agencies and IT departments a working Redmine server in minutes, with no installer to run and no database to create.
What is included: Redmine 7.0.1 (Rails 8.1) on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with Ruby, Apache with Passenger, MySQL 8.0, phpMyAdmin 5.2 on port 3000 for database administration and Webmin 2.660 for server administration. Security is on by default: no password ships in the image. On first boot every instance sets its own Redmine administrator, MySQL root and Webmin passwords, a new Redmine secret token and a new phpMyAdmin secret, MySQL listens only on the server itself, and SSH accepts key-based login only.
What you get on top of the free software: a pre-built and tested image that is ready in minutes, a unique security setup for every server, simple scripts for changing passwords, regular image updates, and help by email whenever you need it. Redmine is open source software licensed under GPL-2.0. Redmine is a trademark of its respective owner. This image is an independent build by ProvenCloud.

Secure by default: no shared or default passwords. Every instance sets its own Redmine, MySQL and Webmin passwords on first boot and a new Redmine secret token is generated, and SSH accepts key-based login only.
Run projects your way: issues, Gantt charts, calendars, wikis, forums and time tracking for many projects and teams, with roles and permissions you control.

Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance you run this Redmine image on. The software itself is open source and needs no license key, so the hourly rate reflects the instance size you choose. Pricing scales with compute capacity across many instance families, including general-purpose (m, t), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x, z), storage-optimized (d, i), and accelerated (g, p, inf, trn) types. Larger sizes within each family cost more per hour. You separately pay AWS for the compute and storage your instance uses.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped?
The hourly rate meters running instance time. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. You may still pay AWS for attached storage, such as the gp3 root volume, while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
What do I actually get for the hourly rate, and is a license key included?
You get a pre-built machine image with Redmine, Apache, MySQL, phpMyAdmin, and Webmin installed and configured. The software is open source under GPL-2.0 and needs no license key. The hourly rate covers the image on your chosen instance size. There is no runtime agent to install.
What drives my total cost if the software needs no license fee?
Your bill is driven by the EC2 instance size you pick and how many hours it runs. The software charge and the underlying AWS compute charge both apply per hour on the same invoice. Storage you attach is billed separately by AWS. Larger instance sizes raise the per-hour cost.

Vendor refund policy
Software charges are billed hourly, only while your instance runs. You can stop charges at any time by terminating the instance or cancelling your subscription. Charges already incurred are not refundable.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
