MariaDB Enterprise Platform: a comprehensive database solution with Enterprise Server, Cluster, MaxScale, Kubernetes Operator, and AI capabilities for scalability, high availability, and security.
MariaDB Cloud
Additionally, MariaDB Enterprise Platform is now available in MariaDB Cloud. This offering provides a fully managed database-as-a-service (DBaaS) that gives you the choice of two robust architectures: provisioned for consistent performance, and serverless for on-demand elastic scale.
If your traffic is relatively consistent, the provisioned mode enables you to create a performant and stable environment. It can accommodate usage spikes by expanding compute or storage as needed within parameters you control. MariaDB Cloud offers a serverless model designed for automatic, on-demand scaling for applications with consistently spiky or unpredictable traffic. It is the ideal architecture for production workloads, such as e-commerce and payment processing, as well as for cost-effective development and testing.

The platform is flexible, deployable on-premise or in any cloud, and available as a managed DBaaS.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing bills through a single contract dimension for MariaDB Enterprise Platform, measured in units. You commit up front to a quantity of units rather than paying per hour or by usage. The unit-based structure lets you scale your commitment by adjusting the quantity purchased. MariaDB Enterprise Platform bundles the enterprise database server, the intelligent proxy, clustering, connectors, and tools, along with production-grade support and services. Because pricing is a single flat dimension, there are no separate tiers or add-on line items to select within this listing.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one unit for billing on this listing?
A unit represents licensed capacity for MariaDB Enterprise Platform under an upfront contract. Support pricing is structured per core with an annual subscription, so units generally map to the number of database cores you run. Confirm the exact core-to-unit mapping with the vendor for your deployment.
What software components come bundled in the Enterprise Platform contract?
The contract includes the enterprise database server, the intelligent database proxy, columnar analytics, multi-master clustering, connectors, and tools. You also get production-grade support with 24×7 coverage for urgent issues, automated failover, real-time analytics, observability, and native vector search — all under the single unit-based commitment.
Does this contract include high availability clustering and geo-distributed deployment?
The Enterprise Platform contract includes standard replication, automated failover, and multi-master clustering. Advanced high availability clustering, RAFT-based consensus, geo-distributed deployment, and the Kubernetes Operator belong to separate offerings not part of this listing. For those capabilities, contact the vendor to discuss options.

MariaDB: Reliable database for handling large data

What do you like best about the product?
We use MariaDB in our company for an application that handles a large amount of data, and it has been reliable for us. Even with continuous usage and growing data, it manages everything without major issues.
From the application side it is easy to work with. Queries run as expected and integration was not difficult. Once it is set up, it doesn’t need much attention on a daily basis.
It also helps us keep data organized across different parts of the application without making the setup too complicated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some parts of the setup were not very clear in the beginning, especially when configuring things beyond basic usage. It took some time to understand how everything works properly.
Also, when something goes wrong, the error messages are not always helpful, so it takes extra time to find the actual issue.
It’s not a big problem once you get used to it, but initially it can be a bit confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MariaDB helps us manage a large amount of data for our application in one place. Instead of handling data in different ways, everything is stored and managed properly through the database.
It makes it easier for our application to retrieve data quickly when users search or access information, so overall performance stays consistent.
It also reduces the effort needed to manage data, since we don’t have to maintain multiple setups, and everything stays organized.

What do you like best about the product?
MariaDB is overseen by the MariaDB Foundation, rather than by a massive corporate entity like Oracle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Migrating a complex, modern MySQL database to MariaDB isn’t always a frictionless process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MariaDB generally offers better performance than MySQL right out of the box. It features an advanced thread pool capable of handling thousands of concurrent connections efficiently, and its query optimizer is exceptionally smart at executing complex queries faster.
