You pay by the hour for this hardened RHEL 8 image with a bundled security agent. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific Amazon EC2 instance type, and the hourly software rate follows the size and family you pick. Smaller instances like t2.micro and t3.nano carry lower hourly rates. Larger compute, memory, storage, and accelerated families such as m8i, r8i, c8i, x8i, and GPU or high-performance types cost more per hour. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing scales with usage. No upfront commitment applies.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit map to for this software?
Each dimension maps to one running Amazon EC2 instance of a specific type, billed per hour. The software rate attaches to that instance while it runs. You pay for one instance-hour each hour the instance stays active, regardless of how heavily you use it.
Am I charged the software rate when my instance is stopped?
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. A stopped or terminated instance stops accruing the software rate. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS resource fees may still apply separately, but the software meter counts running time only.
Does my hourly rate change if I switch to a larger instance type?
Yes. The software rate follows the instance family and size you select. Smaller types like t3.nano carry lower hourly rates. Larger compute, memory, storage, or accelerated types cost more per hour. Changing instance type changes the rate; there is no upfront commitment.
