What do the m7i.xlarge and m7i.2xlarge instance sizes each provide in compute resources?
Each hourly rate maps to an AWS EC2 instance size. The m7i.xlarge offers four virtual CPUs, and the m7i.2xlarge offers eight. Both run the same virtual appliance, which can operate in as little as four gigabytes of RAM. Choose the size that fits your device estate and workload.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges accrue only while the instance runs. Fully stopped instances do not incur the hourly software rate. Stopped instances may still carry underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volume, but the software meters running time only.
Does the hourly instance charge cover cloud AI model inference too?
No. The hourly rate covers the compute instance running the appliance. If you point it at a cloud AI provider, that provider bills inference separately. Running the local Native AI model keeps inference on your own hardware at fixed infrastructure cost, with no separate per-call inference charge.
