    Overview

    Play video

Unreal Media Server is a versatile and reliable streaming server software for streaming with minimal latency. Use it to stream to hundreds and thousands concurrent viewers from single EC2 instance; launch additional instances and use EC2 load balancer for scalability. Stream live audio / video to plugin-free WebRTC or MSE HTML5 players in web browsers, HLS players, Flash players and Unreal Media players. Convert incoming RTMP / RTSP / MPEG2-TS / HLS streams to outcoming HTML5 WebRTC or MSE streams. Achieve lowest possible latency per protocol: 0.2 - 1 sec with HTML5, RTSP, RTMP and UMS players; 3-5 sec with HLS players. Use industry-unique completely UDP-based streaming (Unreal Live Server pushes live streams via UDP; Unreal Media player plays via UDP). Apply Timeshift (instant DVR) function on live streams to allow players seeking, pausing and resuming a live stream. Use server-side live playlists for stream switching, ad insertion and streaming files as live sources. Push live streams from all popular video encoders such as FMLE, OBS, ffmpeg, vMix; also from RTSP cameras, Unreal Live Server and hardware encoders supporting RTMP, RTSP or MPEG2-TS protocols. Stream over HTTPS transport or use AES-128 encryption to protect your streams. Record live streams with Unreal Archival Server.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

    1. Carefully review EC2 hourly prices and select the instance type that fits your budget and bandwidth requirements. We recommend t2.medium for streaming to 10-20 concurrent viewers, t2.xlarge instance for 20-50 concurrent viewers and m4.xlarge instance for higher concurrent viewers amount.

    2. Launch the instance with the desired instance type and connect to the instance with Remote Desktop.

    3. Unlimited edition of Unreal Media Server v15 is installed and configured on your instance. You will find readme.txt file on your desktop; this file contains basic operating instructions. Remember to stop your instances when you don't need them to avoid EC2 hourly charges. Note that when you start your instance again, it will receive a new public IP address; you can use Elastic IP addresses to make your instances always have a permanent public IP address. As you need, create instances in multiple regions. Terminate instances when you no longer need them.
