Overview
RangerOS is a modern operations, evidence and reporting platform designed for Indigenous ranger organisations managing work on Country. It brings field activities, projects, evidence, workforce information, assets and reporting obligations into one secure system, helping ranger organisations reduce reliance on disconnected spreadsheets, shared drives and manual reporting processes. RangerOS is designed around the realities of ranger operations, including remote field work, intermittent connectivity, geographically distributed teams, multiple funding programs and the need to manage culturally sensitive information appropriately. Field Operations and Evidence RangerOS helps ranger teams capture structured information as work happens. Activities can be linked to projects, locations, outcomes and supporting evidence so that operational records are progressively built during normal field work. This can include field activities, observations, photographs, project outcomes and other evidence required for organisational or program reporting. Offline-capable workflows support teams working in areas where reliable connectivity may not always be available. Reporting and Program Administration RangerOS connects operational information directly with reporting requirements. Dashboards provide visibility over activities, reporting periods, deadlines, evidence gaps and outstanding information. This allows coordinators and managers to identify missing evidence early and prepare reports progressively rather than reconstructing information at the end of a reporting period. Projects and Activities RangerOS can be used to manage:
- Ranger projects and programs
- Field activities and activity reports
- Project outcomes
- Supporting evidence
- Reporting periods and deadlines
- Evidence gaps and outstanding actions
- Operational summaries
- Program reporting information Assets, Workforce, Training and Safety RangerOS can also maintain operational records relating to:
- Vehicles and assets
- Equipment
- Ranger workforce information
- Training and capability records
- Safety records
- Project resources This provides organisations with a clearer view of both the work being delivered and the people and resources supporting that work. Reporting Packs and Exports RangerOS is designed to make organisational information portable. Users can prepare structured reporting information and exports using records already captured within the platform. This reduces duplicate data entry and helps organisations prepare reporting packs for internal review, funding bodies and other stakeholders. Data Governance and Access Control RangerOS uses organisation-scoped access controls, roles and permissions to help ensure users only access information they are authorised to see. This is particularly important where records may contain culturally sensitive information, location data, photographs, stories or other evidence requiring appropriate handling. RangerOS can support approval workflows for sensitive evidence before information is shared or included in reporting. Data Sovereignty and Privacy RangerOS is designed with data sovereignty, privacy and organisational control as core principles. Information is separated by organisation, and access is governed through verified identity, membership, roles and permissions. The platform is intended to give ranger organisations greater control over how operational and reporting information is stored, accessed and used. API and Integration Support RangerOS is designed to integrate with broader organisational systems through APIs, webhooks and automation interfaces. Integration capabilities can support document platforms, reporting systems, workflow automation tools and other operational services. AI and MCP Support RangerOS can support controlled AI assistant and agent integrations through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Authorised users can interact with RangerOS information using natural-language workflows, such as asking about projects, reporting deadlines, missing evidence or operational status. AI access remains subject to the same organisation boundaries, roles and permissions as conventional users. Key capabilities include:
- Ranger project and program management
- Field activity capture
- Offline-capable workflows
- Evidence management
- Reporting deadline tracking
- Evidence gap identification
- Reporting dashboards
- Reporting pack preparation
- Structured exports
- Asset and equipment records
- Workforce and training records
