AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance. Each dimension matches one EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance you pick. The software itself is the same Valkey 8.1 build across all options. Pricing scales with instance capacity: smaller general-purpose types like t3 and m5 carry lower hourly rates, while compute, memory, storage, and accelerated families (c, r, i, x, g, p, inf, trn) and bare-metal or very large sizes carry higher rates. You only pay for the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on my chosen instance type?
You get the Valkey 8.1.6 in-memory data store running on Amazon Linux 2023. It auto-tunes memory to 75% of RAM, enables AOF persistence, and generates credentials on first boot. Valkey listens on port 6379. The software is the same across every instance tier; only the compute capacity changes.
Am I charged when my EC2 instance is stopped?
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue software charges. You still pay AWS for attached storage such as the data directory while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
Does the memory auto-tuning change my hourly rate if I pick a larger instance?
No. Auto-tuning sets Valkey memory to 75% of the instance RAM automatically, so a larger instance holds more data. Your hourly rate is set by the instance tier you select, not by how much memory Valkey uses. Bigger tiers carry higher rates regardless of tuning.
