Pricing attaches to the AWS EC2 instance size you choose, so the rate scales with the compute, memory, or storage profile of that instance. All options cover the Arm-based (arm64) processor family. Rates vary across the compute-optimized (c-series), general-purpose (m- and a-series), memory-optimized (r- and x-series), storage-optimized (i- and is-series), graphics (g-series), and high-performance computing (hpc-series) families. Within each family, larger sizes carry higher hourly rates, from nano and medium up to 48xlarge and bare-metal variants. Billing stops when the instance stops.

You receive the SUSE Linux Micro 5.4 operating system license, billed per hour per running instance. It runs on Arm-based (arm64) processors. The host supports standalone container deployment and Kubernetes cluster use, with transactional updates, full disk encryption, and SELinux. The underlying AWS EC2 compute is billed separately by AWS.
The software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software fee. Restarting the instance resumes the hourly charge. Note that AWS may still bill for attached storage while the instance is stopped, separate from this software license.
The rate attaches to the chosen EC2 instance size. Within one family, larger sizes carry higher hourly rates, from medium and nano up to 48xlarge and bare-metal variants. Rates also differ across compute-, memory-, storage-optimized, general-purpose, graphics, and high-performance families. You pay the rate tied to the single instance you launch.

Usage instructions
Use the image to start an instance of your choice in Amazon EC2. Once the instance is running connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client as 'suse' and the configured SSH key. The instance is connected to the SUSE update infrastructure to receive updates. Use the transactional-update command to update the system or install additional packages.
