You pay by the hour for SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro running on arm64 EC2 instances. This listing is for EMEA orders only. The many pricing lines match specific arm64 instance types, grouped into families like general purpose (m-series, a1, t4g), compute optimized (c-series), memory optimized (r-series, x-series), and storage or accelerated options (i-series, is4gen, g5g, hpc7g). Within each family, the hourly software rate scales with instance size, from small (medium, large) up to metal sizes. You pick the instance that fits your workload and pay only for hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Am I charged for the software when an arm64 instance is stopped or powered off?
You pay the hourly software rate only while an instance runs. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue the software charge. Note that AWS may still bill underlying storage for stopped instances, but the SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro software meters running hours only.
What does one hourly unit cover — a physical server or a virtual machine?
Each unit is one running arm64 EC2 instance, billed per hour. A virtual instance counts as one unit, even when several share underlying hardware. Metal sizes cover a full physical server. You are billed separately for each instance you run.
What drives my cost across the many instance-type lines in the table?
Your cost depends on which instance type you run and how many hours it runs. Larger sizes within a family carry a higher hourly rate. Running multiple instances bills each one independently, and all running hours add up on one invoice.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance.
