The hundreds of options map directly to AWS Graviton-based instance families, spanning general purpose, compute, memory, storage, and accelerated workloads. Rates scale with instance size: smaller sizes like nano, micro, and medium cost less per hour, while larger sizes such as 48xlarge and metal variants cost more. You select the instance that matches your workload, and the software charge is added to the underlying AWS compute cost. Billing tracks actual usage hours.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one hour of running the software on a single arm64 EC2 instance of the type you pick. The rate covers the SUSE Linux Enterprise Micro license only. AWS bills the underlying compute separately. You are charged per instance, so ten running instances meter ten times the hourly software rate.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the software fee. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage costs for attached volumes, but the license charge tracks actual hours the instance runs.
Yes. The software rate attaches to the specific instance type you launch. If you switch from a smaller size to a larger one, such as 4xlarge to 48xlarge, the new hourly rate applies from that launch. There is no upgrade step or commitment; you simply choose the instance.

Usage instructions
Use the image to start an instance of your choice in Amazon EC2. Once the instance is running connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client as 'ec2-user' and the configured SSH key. The instance is connected to the SUSE update infrastructure to receive updates. Use the transactional-update command to update the system or install additional packages.
