Easily deploy Jitsi Meet with AWS infrastructure: a self-hosted, secure, and scalable video conferencing platform with built-in meeting recording tailored for large organizations, events, and institutions needing high-capacity collaboration. With Jitsi Meet, you maintain full control over infrastructure, data privacy, and recording storage within your own AWS account.
Our pre-configured AMI enables rapid deployment and robust operation of Jitsi Meet, optimized for up to 500 concurrent users. The deployment includes a primary server with Jitsi Meet and Jitsi Video Bridge (JVB) installed, and a dedicated Jibri server for recording one meeting at a time. Recordings are automatically uploaded to your configured AWS S3 bucket. This setup is bundled with an AWS CloudWatch monitoring dashboard alongside all core Jitsi components.

You pay an hourly software fee set by the EC2 instance size you choose to run this Jitsi Meet deployment. The 16 options are instance types, not feature tiers, split across two families: t3/t3a general-purpose sizes and c5/c5a compute-optimized sizes. Within each family, larger sizes (small, medium, large, xlarge, 2xlarge) carry a higher hourly rate. You match the instance to your peak call load. This Marketplace fee covers software and support only; AWS bills the EC2 instance, storage, and data transfer separately.

Each size maps to vCPU and RAM. The guide recommends c5.xlarge for the JVB, t3a.small for the Meet server, and t3a.medium for the Jibri recording instance. Larger c5 and t3 sizes handle higher call loads. Match the instance to your peak concurrent users and recording needs.
No. The Marketplace hourly rate is Meetrix's software and support fee only. AWS bills you separately for the EC2 instance, S3 storage for recordings, and data transfer. Video egress bills at standard AWS rates after the first 100GB per month, and recording needs its own Jibri instance.
The hourly software fee accrues while the instance runs, including idle time. The Jitsi Meet server must stay up for scheduling and signaling even between calls. Only fully powered-off instances stop the software fee. Videobridge instances in an auto-scaling group are where turning off idle capacity reduces cost.

Jitsi Meet 500 concurrent user video conferencing setup with recording
The setup includes Jitsi Meet server, autoscalable Jitsi Video Bridges and autoscalable Jibri recording servers. This scripts using IAM role permission to push metrics to cloudwatch, communicate with sqs and terminate Jitsi Video Bridges for scaling in Jitsi Video Bridges. Jibri servers IAM role permission to apply scale in protection to themselves, push recordings to s3 bucket and push metrics for cloudwatch dashboard

Usage instructions
Click the "View Purchase Options" button. After that, you will need to accept the terms and conditions. Click on "Accept Terms" to proceed. Please wait for a few minutes while the processing takes place. Once it's completed, click on "Continue to Configuration". Select your preferred region in "Configure this software" page and click "Continue to Launch" button. From the "Choose Action" dropdown menu, select "Launch CloudFormation", and then click "Launch". Fill the data and continue to deploy the product.
Access the application via a browser at http://<domain-name>. To generate SSL certificates first point dns to server, login to the instance and run certbot --nginx. To ssh, use port 22 and the username 'ubuntu'. Admin email is required for SSL generation. IAM role assigned to instances for push metrics to cloudwatch, communicate with sqs and terminate Jitsi Video Bridges for scaling in Jitsi Video Bridges. Jibri servers IAM role permission to apply scale in protection to themselves, push recordings to s3 bucket, change volume type and push metrics for cloudwatch dashboard

What do you like best about the product?
I use Jitsi for group video calls: it's very simple and intuitive and saves me from having to meet people in person. I appreciate the simplicity and the ability to mute video or audio live when I need privacy. Starting to use it is also very easy: just download it and register; I would give it 10 out of 10.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I encounter small bugs when clicking on the link to enter the room. I would improve the experience from clicking the link to entering the room by fixing these bugs; otherwise, it's great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Jitsi, I solve the problem of having to meet people in person.

What do you like best about the product?
I use Jitsi for online meetings and video conferencing. I like that it's free, easy to use, and doesn't require an account to join meetings. Interface could feel a bit more polished. Better controls and a smoother experience during larger meetings would be helpful. For larger meetings, better participant management, moderation tools and smoother performance would make the experience more efficient

What do you like best about the product?
I love Jitsi as a privacy-focused alternative to commercial video platforms. It solves key video conferencing pain points by eliminating account and app friction, addressing data privacy concerns, removing vendor lock-in and licensing costs, and simplifying developer video integration. What stands out is how seamlessly Jitsi balances frictionless access with uncompromising user privacy. Unlike other platforms that trap users behind mandatory account creation, proprietary app downloads, and restrictive freemium tiers, Jitsi delivers a top-tier video experience that respects user autonomy. The setup was incredibly easy and user-friendly, so much so that I would recommend it.

I find the mobile experience inconsistent. Joining via a mobile web browser can be spotty. While the native Jitsi iOS/Android apps work well, having to download an app on mobile doesn't align with the 'zero-download' web experience I love on desktop.
