AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. There is no upfront commitment or fixed term. The many dimensions you see are simply the supported instance sizes, spanning general-purpose (t2, t3), compute-optimized (c3, c4, c5), memory-optimized (r3, r4, r5), storage-optimized (d2, d3), and GPU (g2, g3) families. Your hourly rate scales with the instance you select — larger sizes within a family cost more per hour. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs. AWS infrastructure charges apply separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What software comes preinstalled on this Windows Server 2022 image?
The image runs Windows Server 2022 Base with container support, a web browser, and a code editor. It is built as a developer workstation setup. You use these tools without separate installation. The software runs on whichever Amazon EC2 instance type you launch.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or powered off?
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. A stopped instance does not accrue software fees. However, AWS may still bill separately for attached storage and other resources tied to the stopped instance. Software metering counts running hours only.
Why does the same image list so many instance types at different rates?
Each dimension is a supported EC2 instance size across general-purpose, compute, memory, storage, and GPU families. The same software runs on all of them. Your rate reflects the instance you pick. Larger sizes within a family carry a higher hourly rate.
