Overview Ghost is a modern open source publishing platform used to run blogs, newsletters, magazines and membership websites by independent creators and businesses worldwide. This image delivers Ghost fully installed and configured, so a complete publishing platform is running within minutes of launch. The current release available is Ghost 6.
Application Stack Ghost served by Node.js 22 LTS. nginx web server reverse-proxying the Ghost process on port 80. MySQL 8 database tier on its own EBS volume. Ghost-CLI installed and available for upgrades, backups and configuration.
Secure First Boot On the first boot of your instance a one shot service generates a fresh MySQL password and a fresh Ghost administrator password, unique to that instance, and writes them to a root only file. No shared or default credentials ship in the image.
Ready To Use The Ghost code tree, web server and database are all configured. Browse to the instance address and sign in at /ghost to create posts, manage members, configure themes and connect newsletters. The Ghost API and Admin UI are both immediately available.
