You pay by the hour for the compute instance running your cloud desktop. Four instance sizes are available, so you pick the one that matches your workload. The c7g.large and c8g.large options give you the base configuration. The c7g.xlarge and c8g.xlarge options give you more capacity per instance. Billing is usage-based, meaning charges accrue only while an instance runs. You can start and stop instances to control spend. Each size is an independent choice, not a locked tier, so you can match cost to the resources each session needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What hardware does each hourly instance size give me?
Each option maps to an AWS compute instance. The c7g and c8g families use Arm-based processors. The large sizes give base CPU and memory. The xlarge sizes give more CPU and memory per instance. You pick the size that fits each design or editing session.
Am I charged when I stop or power off a cloud desktop instance?
Billing is usage-based, so software charges accrue only while an instance runs. If you stop an instance, hourly charges stop. The product supports scheduled start and stop to release resources automatically, letting you align spend with work hours. Underlying AWS storage may still carry separate fees.
Does moving from a large to an xlarge instance change my rate automatically?
No automatic upgrade happens. Each size is an independent hourly choice. You decide which instance to launch for each session. When you run an xlarge, you pay that size's hourly rate only while it runs. Switching back to a large returns you to that rate. Nothing locks you into a tier.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
