EasyPA FHIR Explorer Premium adds a complete write tier on top of the Free read-only product. Create, update, and delete FHIR R4 resources, post transaction bundles, and bulk-import up to 500 resources per call - against your own HealthLake, any FHIR R4 REST
endpoint, or our managed datastore.
What's included beyond Free:
create, update, delete on any FHIR R4 resource
Transaction bundles (atomic multi-operation)
Bulk $import endpoint (up to 500 resources per call)
Dedicated per-tenant HealthLake datastore, auto-provisioned at subscribe time (no cross-tenant storage)
20 requests/sec rate limit per tenant (10x Free)
Version diff and rollback in the UI
365-day audit log retention (Free: 90 days)
Priority support
Volume discounts on reads/writes/imports available via AWS Marketplace Private Offer
Connection modes (same as Free):
EasyPA Managed FHIR - We host the HealthLake datastore, tenant-tag isolated.
BYO HealthLake - Cross-account IAM role with read+write policy (CloudFormation template provided).
BYO REST - Any FHIR R4 server (Azure FHIR, Google Healthcare API, Aidbox, etc.).
Recommended write target: BYO HealthLake or BYO REST. Writes to the managed datastore are supported but the customer is responsible for resource validity.
Data separation: Premium provisions a fresh empty dedicated HealthLake datastore. Data previously written on the Free/managed tier stays on the shared managed datastore and is NOT automatically copied. Use the Premium $import endpoint to bring resources forward. If
the private datastore is deleted (inactivity sweep or cancellation), data that lived exclusively on the private datastore is permanently lost - export before deletion if preservation matters.
Inactivity policy: If the tenant has zero writes and fewer than 50 reads over a 30-day window, we email a warning and, if inactivity continues, schedule the private datastore for deletion after a 22-day grace window. Any FHIR activity in the window clears the
warning.
Compliance: SOC 2 Type II certified, HIPAA-compliant, continuously monitored via Vanta. Independent third-party audits completed. BAA included with every Premium subscription before any PHI touches our managed or dedicated datastore.

This Premium tier combines a fixed monthly base fee with three usage charges. You pay the Premium Monthly Base once per month for each active tenant. On top of that, usage adds up based on activity. FHIR read bills for every search or read from the first one. FHIR write bills per single-resource POST, PUT, or DELETE. Bulk-imported resource bills per resource brought in through import or transaction bundle. The base fee is fixed, while the three usage charges scale with how much you read, write, and import.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one FHIR read versus one FHIR write for billing?
A FHIR read is any single search or read request, billed from the first one. A FHIR write is one single-resource POST, PUT, or DELETE. Each request counts individually. Reads and writes bill separately, so a search and a resource update are two distinct charges on your invoice.
How do the monthly base fee and the three usage charges combine on my bill?
You pay the fixed Premium Monthly Base once per active tenant each month. The three usage charges add on top, billed per read, per write, and per imported resource. All charges apply simultaneously. Usage-heavy workloads see reads, writes, and imports scale independently based on your activity.
What does bulk-imported resource billing cover, and how does it differ from a write?
Bulk-imported resource bills per resource brought in through an $import operation or a transaction bundle. This differs from a FHIR write, which charges per single-resource POST, PUT, or DELETE. Import handles many resources at once; each imported resource counts as one unit toward the import charge.
