I like the standardization provided by IBM Apptio for each forecast, which enhances comparability and version control. This feature is particularly beneficial as it allows for consistent planning and forecasting across different scenarios, making it easier to align and compare financial outcomes. The ability to handle financial information efficiently and hold accountability by cost center owners is another aspect I appreciate, as it enables a clearer understanding of financial responsibilities and projections. These elements together contribute to more structured and transparent financial management.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find the user interface of IBM Apptio not nimble, making it less responsive and somewhat cumbersome to navigate. The process to load and validate actual data into IBM Apptio is notably time-consuming, taking about 1.5 hours, which can be quite inefficient. Also, I believe the addition of an AI feature that helps analyze information would be incredibly beneficial, as it is currently lacking in this aspect, potentially limiting the depth of insights I can derive quickly.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use IBM Apptio for consolidating IT financial projections, ensuring accountability by cost center owners, and comparing various plans, improving our financial planning and forecasting.

What do you like best about the product?

I appreciate IBM Apptio's user interface, as it is designed thoughtfully enough to minimize the need for extensive training, making it accessible and straightforward to use for team members. The out-of-the-box features are a significant asset, as they have drastically reduced our time to market, which is usually much longer. These features meant that the initial setup only took two months, demonstrating the efficiency and readiness of the platform to meet our needs immediately. This aspect not only enhances productivity but also streamlines our operations, enabling us to focus on more strategic tasks without getting bogged down in a steep learning curve.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find the integration of all the modules within IBM Apptio problematic. Specifically, the integration from costing to billing lacks bidirectionality, which could enhance the system's efficiency and usefulness.

I use IBM Apptio to efficiently combine costing and billing views, benefiting from intuitive UI and out-of-the-box features that reduce the need for extensive training and shorten time to market.

This functionality empowers me to efficiently manage complex data tasks, speeding up the process of producing budgets and forecasts. Furthermore, it allows me to offer timely spending feedback to leadership, thereby contributing to more informed and strategic decision-making within the organization.
