What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Most of the efforts went into configuring workflows, partner connections, and security policies rather than the initial deployment itself. Overall, the licensing and setup costs were reasonable considering the automation, security, and operational benefits the platform provides.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated a few alternatives including IBM Sterling File Gateway  and Progress MOVEit . We selected GoAnywhere MFT because it offered a good balance of automation, security, ease of management, and file transfer capability while fitting well with our operational requirements.

What other advice do I have?

In addition to secure file transfer, we also use GoAnywhere MFT for monitoring and audit purposes. Having centralized visibility into file transfer activity helps with troubleshooting and provides better control over critical business data exchange. It fits well with our workflow because the combination of automation, security, and tracking is available in a single platform.

The automation capabilities have helped reduce the number of manual file transfer tasks our team had to perform. Instead of monitoring transfers individually, we could schedule workflows and automatically move files, validate transfers, and send notifications if something failed. This improved consistency and allowed the team to focus more on exception handling and process improvement rather than routine file moving activities.

Another feature worth mentioning is the centralized dashboard and reporting. It gives us a clear view of transfer activity, job status, and failures from a single location. The alerting capability helps us stay informed of any issues.

I would rate this product eight out of ten.

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for GoAnywhere MFT  is secure automated file transfer between internal systems and external partners. For example, I use GoAnywhere MFT  to automatically transfer daily business files between our ERP  system and third-party vendors without manual intervention.

I also use GoAnywhere MFT  for workflow automation and integration with internal applications. It helps me to schedule transfers, monitor file movements, and receive alerts for failed jobs, reducing manual effort and improving reliability. The best features that GoAnywhere MFT  offers are secure file transfer protocol, workflow automation, job scheduling, and centralized monitoring with detailed audit logs. These features help improve security, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Centralized monitoring gives me a single dashboard to track all file transfers, making it easy to identify and resolve issues quickly. Audit logs are especially useful for compliance and troubleshooting. For example, if a file transfer fails or a partner asks whether a file was delivered, I can quickly verify the status and review the transfer history.

Another valuable feature I find in GoAnywhere MFT is its automation capability. It eliminates repeated manual tasks by scheduling and managing file transfers automatically. I save time and reduce the risk of human error.

    What is most valuable?

GoAnywhere MFT has positively impacted my organization by improving efficiency through automating file transfers and reducing manual effort. It has also enhanced security through encrypted transfers and better access controls. Overall, it has helped me save time, reduce errors, and improve the reliability of my file exchange process.

While I don't track exact metrics, I can share that I have seen a noticeable reduction in manual effort and transfer-related errors since using GoAnywhere MFT. Tasks that previously required manual monitoring are now automated, saving several hours each week and improving the reliability and consistency of file transfers.

    What needs improvement?

GoAnywhere MFT could be improved in some areas. Overall, the product works well, but the user interface could be more modern and intuitive. Some advanced configurations and workflows have a learning curve, so simplifying those areas or improving supporting capabilities would make the experience even better.

While the documentation is generally good, more detailed examples for advanced workflows and integrations would be helpful. Customer support has been responsive, though faster resolution times for complex issues would be appreciated. Overall, these are minor improvements, and the product has met expectations very well.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for around two years.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support has been responsive, though faster resolution times for complex issues would be appreciated.

What other advice do I have?

When considering GoAnywhere MFT's AI capabilities, I recognize it is not primarily an AI-driven product, so this is not a major area of focus. However, in terms of automation, monitoring, and file transfer processing, it has been very reliable and consistent with accurate execution of configured workflows and minimal errors.

I deploy GoAnywhere MFT in a hybrid deployment model with integration across on-premises systems and cloud-based applications. This provides flexibility while maintaining security and control over file transfer operations.

For my cloud-based applications, I primarily use Microsoft Azure  and integrate it with GoAnywhere MFT.

I purchased GoAnywhere MFT through a partner, not through the AWS Marketplace .

The main improvements I would suggest for GoAnywhere MFT are a more modern user interface, simplified advanced configuration, and enhanced reporting and analytics. Other than that, GoAnywhere MFT has met my requirements well and has been a reliable solution for secure file transfer and automation.

My advice for others looking into using GoAnywhere MFT would be to clearly define file transfer and automation requirements before implementation. Take advantage of the workflow automation, security features, and monitoring capabilities from the start. Proper planning and configuration will help you get the most value from the platform and reduce manual effort significantly.

GoAnywhere MFT has been a reliable and secure solution for managed file transfer. Its automation, security, and monitoring capabilities have helped improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort. I have had a positive experience with the product and would recommend it to organizations looking for a robust MFT solution. I rate this product an 8 out of 10.
