Automation has transformed secure credential file transfers and now centralizes cloud data workflows with detailed audit visibility
What is our primary use case?
I use GoAnywhere MFTÂ for automating and securing file transfers because our company mainly uses credential data. It is very mandatory to transfer it very securely. We use SFTP and FTPS for data file transfer for ERPÂ , CRMÂ , or databases. We also have trading partners, so it is very essential to transfer the data securely.
The main connection is AWS S3 , as we use S3 for our primary storage. We have also connected GoAnywhere MFT to Salesforce . We connect it with Azure Blob for unstructured data. We have integrated AWS , Azure , and Salesforce .
For operations, we access control for administrators and external users through GoAnywhere's connectors. We authenticate against Active Directory. GoAnywhere has gateways to prevent firewall access and has a very secure network system. It is really helpful for connecting all these cloud platforms. The main reason is auditing. The detailed centralized audit logs and reporting are invaluable. Sometimes we lost lots of data, so it helps us keep backups.
The connectors are very important in GoAnywhere MFTÂ . Connection with cloud is a crucial process because there is no chance of any errors. In that scenario, connectors properly handle all the network and all the audit logs. Connectors are very essential. Without connectors, we cannot do it manually because it gets very difficult to maintain all this process.
Till now, I personally do not use GoAnywhere Agents. My seniors have used it a lot, but I do not have any hands-on experience with that right now.
We use many lots of data in the form of secure forms, such as survey forms or employee forms. We use it a lot in our data pipelines.
In one project, I used the secure form. The scenario was about the landing pages of the GoAnywhere MFTÂ server or something. The main process was that data collection was there and allows our organization to collect files and structured data. Forms and metadata from external parties are collected directly onto the secure environment. We have used secure forms whenever we collect the data from a third party. When we collect the data from a third party, there might be a lot of incorrect data or null values, so we have used the secure form there.
We mostly use GoFast feature on large data sets. On many cloud platforms, it took a long time to process that data or to transfer that data because we use terabytes of data in the daily workflow. GoFast really helps us transmit that data or do all the ETL processes on that data so efficiently and in a fast manner. Our ETL process was very slow on the traditional database, but when we started using GoAnywhere MFT, the whole workflow or data pipeline got very faster. It is a great feature for us.
Whenever we do meetings, I analyze all the timing saved because of all the automation in GoAnywhere MFT. Right now in our company, because of the automation processes, our DevOps team is saving time around 45 percent to 50 percent overall because of the automation. We are still improving our whole infrastructure and workflows for 70 percent to 80 percent automation, which will save the time around 60 percent to 70 percent. Right now 40 percent to 50 percent time is saving because of GoAnywhere MFT and automation.
I have multiple automations or processes happening within my organization, but they run on different platforms, such as different servers or using different APIs.
There is an individual team to manage these processes. I mainly work with data engineers to help them manage the data extraction, the cloud platform, and the infrastructure of our cloud platform. There is an individual team which has all the responsibilities of their respective departments. Each department has their tools and all the technicalities. I know about my tools. We use GoAnywhere MFT for file transfer, AWS and Azure for cloud, I also use Snowflake for sometimes helping the data engineers, and Docker .
What is most valuable?
The main reason behind using GoAnywhere MFT is automation. Earlier, we used to do many manual processes for maintaining all the data pipelines, and we were planning for automation. GoAnywhere MFT really helps in this scenario because it eliminates all the manual scripting in Linux and reduces human errors. It significantly saves time. Its protocols are very secure as compared to other platforms. It ensures data is encrypted in transmission and also for backup. The audit trails and reporting are very helpful. All these features are really helpful in our daily work.
The whole impact of using GoAnywhere MFT was very positive from the starting. It has significantly improved our security by centralizing all the file transfers under one secure and auditable platform. It has also boosted operational efficiency by automating repetitive tasks and allowing our whole IT staff to focus on higher-value work. It has definitely added overall positive impact on our organization.
What needs improvement?
I do not think there is any improvement needed in GoAnywhere MFT because right now it is working great. The UI is a little bit old and could be improved, but overall, it is the best. Till now, I do not have any complaints about that.
I would really want to see AI integration in GoAnywhere MFT. Right now, I cannot say all the processes are on automation. There is a need for human process. If the AI integration would be there for whole automation in the future, it will be very fine because it took a little bit of time. AI integration would be better for all the automation processes.
For how long have I used the solution?
It has been around 1.5 to 1.7 years that I have been working with GoAnywhere MFT as a DevOps engineer.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Regarding the experience with the stability of GoAnywhere MFT, I would say it is 80 percent to 90 percent stable. We have faced some kind of bugs or it took some loading time whenever the data set is very large, but it is okay. All the platforms take some time to load the data. We never faced any major bugs or major loads. It works efficiently and it is quite stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have integrated GoAnywhere MFT with our cloud platform, so it is very scalable because we have to keep our whole architecture and cloud platform scalable. We extract lots of streaming data from our clients or our customers, so we have to be prepared for scaling. That is the reason to use GoAnywhere MFT along with the cloud platform because it provides the best scalability. We never faced any issue about scalability such as shortage of storage or any other kind of issue. It is very scalable.
How are customer service and support?
Technical support for GoAnywhere MFT is very helpful. Personally, I have connected with them many times for learning the new features. When I was facing some learning issues in a feature, they helped me many times. Whenever we faced any issue such as some bugs or service errors, we have connected them and they really solve all the problems in a very quick manner. Their customer service is very great. Sometimes they took some long time to solve the issue, but they definitely solve the issue.
I would say nine because the tech support is great for GoAnywhere MFT. They really solve our problems which satisfies us. The platform is also very stable, scalable, and powerful. It is totally reliable to add it in our work. I would say nine out of ten to the customer service.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I just came here at this company, Proton Labs, one year ago, so I do not know about which platform they were using before GoAnywhere MFT. They have been using this software from the last two to two and a half years, so I do not know which tool they were using before that.
How was the initial setup?
The setup is not so complicated. The installation is very straightforward, especially with the platform being multi-platform compatible. We have installed it on Windows, Linux, and also on hybrid cloud. The configuration is very basic. It does not need any complicated learning or any experts' visionary. There was some challenging part that the complexity of designing and the fine-tuning is very advanced, so it needs some expert expertise. Otherwise, all the installation was very straightforward.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We only use GoAnywhere MFT for that before.
What other advice do I have?
I have a little idea about that from the pricing point of view regarding GoAnywhere MFT. As compared to other tools, such as clouds like GCP or AWS, I would say it is quite affordable in comparison with these cloud platforms and any other tools. It is quietly on the higher side, but it is okay because it provides a wonderful service. The customer service is great, so it is worth it.
I do not have any idea about the pricing, but I would say in case of benefits, GoAnywhere MFT really saves our time because before using it, my manager said the whole process was on manual mode and it was very time-consuming. Right now, our 50 percent to 60 percent workflow is on automation. The ETL process is on automation via GoAnywhere MFT to the cloud. It really saves our time. I can tell about time saving, but I do not have any idea about pricing.
I would recommend GoAnywhere MFT to a colleague at another company who says they the features, but the price of the solution is a bit high. It is primarily for organizations that need centralized and secure and automate a high volume of file transfer to meet their security and all the requirements. Only if they are ready to invest on the higher side. GoAnywhere MFT is really providing a great service, so they have to invest in it, even if it is on the higher side. It is their choice. I would recommend that it is a very good platform and it is really secure and helps to automate all the things in file transfer. I would definitely want to recommend them, but it is their choice after all, about the price.
The one major recommendation I would give about GoAnywhere MFT is to use it very securely because one error could just interrupt your whole file transfer or might lose your credential data. Use it very securely because one error could really lose your credential data. I would give this review a rating of nine out of ten.
Automates secure file transfers and workflows while centralizing administration and integrating with multiple systems
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
GoAnywhere MFTÂ agent is useful for automating tasks on remote servers without exposing them publicly. This is the main agent use I am utilizing in GoAnywhere MFTÂ .
Secure Forms features in GoAnywhere MFT allow safe data collection directly from users with automatic routing and encryption. This is the Secure Forms feature I am currently using in my project.
GoFast noticeably improves transfer speed for large files in GoAnywhere MFT by accelerating file transfers in distributed environments.
GoAnywhere MFT supports connectors for multiple systems, including SAP, database, cloud storage, and REST APIs. I am specifically using the SAP integration through SAP connectors and APIs.
What needs improvement?
When I started using GoAnywhere MFT, I experienced complexities for projects that required experience to create them. The error logs can be hard to understand at first sight. However, with continued use of this product, I became more familiar and comfortable with it.
I believe GoAnywhere MFT could be more stable and enterprise-friendly overall. It is a strong and reliable solution for secure file transfers and workflow automation, offering excellent security features and dependable performance. The main areas of improvement are the user interface and debugging simplicity.

Automation runs seamlessly through set workflows and scheduled transfers without manual effort
What is our primary use case?
I use GoAnywhere MFTÂ for file transfers and basic workflow automation.
What is most valuable?
What I like the most about GoAnywhere MFTÂ is the automation; once the workflow is set, it handles the transfers very reliably and without any manual effort.
The file transfer agents in GoAnywhere MFTÂ are very important to me; they run on scheduled workflows, move files, and monitor directories, keeping the automation running even when I am not logged in and handling the task consistently in the background, so I do not have to do anything or worry.
What needs improvement?
Some parts of the GoAnywhere MFTÂ interface feel a bit outdated, and a few things are buried too deep, requiring me to search extensively for them. GoAnywhere MFT can improve the navigation of their interface and make some advanced configurations easier to find.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using GoAnywhere MFT for about three to four months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It happened once about a month ago that I experienced some downtime with GoAnywhere MFT for approximately one hour, but it did not cause me too much of an issue.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
GoAnywhere MFT scales well for me, and I have the option to add many more workflows, connections, and agents without the system slowing down, handling growing workloads really well, so I can rely on that.
How are customer service and support?
I have not contacted the technical support of GoAnywhere MFT yet; I have not had the chance.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have not used any alternatives to GoAnywhere MFT at this organizational level and have not paid for any software before this one.
How was the initial setup?
The initial deployment of GoAnywhere MFT was manageable; some parts needed a bit of learning, but overall it was straightforward. Once the basic steps were done, then it was all right.
It took me a few days to fully deploy GoAnywhere MFT, approximately two or three days, and I tested the workflows after the actual installation, which also took a few days but not very long.
Maintenance for GoAnywhere MFT is very little, mostly just checking the logs, updating the credentials, and adjusting the workflows if something changes in my organization, that is all, nothing extraordinary.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding the pricing of GoAnywhere MFT, I feel it is fair for the features that they offer; it may seem high if you are using it for basic transfers only, but the pricing is fair if you are taking complete advantage of the features that they provide.
What other advice do I have?
I have used the connectors included in GoAnywhere MFT, mainly for SFTP and FTPs, setting them up to establish secure connections and then using them inside workflows to automate the file transfers between systems. I would rate this product a 9 out of 10.
