You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen AWS EC2 instance. Pricing follows the instance size you select, so cost scales with the compute resources you use. The options cover several families: burstable T2 and T3 instances for lighter workloads, and M3, M4, and M5 general-purpose families for steady use. Within each family, sizes range from nano and micro up to 24xlarge and bare-metal instances. There are no tiers or plans to choose. You simply match an instance size to the streaming power your workload needs and pay hourly.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of billing cover for this software?
You are charged per hour that your chosen EC2 instance runs the software. One unit equals one running instance-hour. The rate depends on the instance size you select. Larger instance families and sizes carry different hourly rates. Charges stop accruing when the instance is not running.
Am I charged the software fee when my streaming instance is stopped?
The software fee meters running time only. When you stop the instance, software charges stop accruing. A stopped instance may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for its attached volumes, but those are separate from the hourly software charge shown here.
How do I choose which instance size to run for streaming?
Match the instance size to your streaming workload. Burstable T2 and T3 sizes suit lighter or intermittent use. M3, M4, and M5 general-purpose sizes suit steady streaming. During setup, the auto-configuration wizard lets you pick stream quality based on your instance's power.
