Cloud ex Machina maps your environment, attributes cost without tags, and delivers high impact optimizations directly into developer workflows, from infrastructure tweaks to commitment planning.
Smarter Cloud Spend, Built Into How You Work.
Cut costs, prevent waste, and maximize long-term savings by embedding continuous optimization across infrastructure, usage, and strategic planning so cloud spend is always optimized, not just analyzed.
Turn FinOps into actionable engineering tasks, not overhead.
Guide reserved instance purchases and strategic spend decisions with insights that flow directly into execution so cost optimization actually happens.
Give developers ownership of cost without adding friction.
Surface cost-saving opportunities in tools teams already use, with clear ownership and no added process.
Continuously detect, attribute, and eliminate cloud waste.
Automatically identify idle resources, misconfigurations, and unused capacity and route cleanup to the teams responsible.
Highlights
Rate Optimization: Make smarter long term spending decisions. Cloud ex Machina analyzes usage trends to recommend the right mix of Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Enterprise Discount Plans. It helps teams unlock savings while maintaining flexibility. Early support for capacity provisioning is also available.
Usage Optimization: Cut waste without disrupting how teams work. Cloud ex Machina identifies underused resources, idle environments, and unnecessary storage. With intelligent rightsizing, smart scheduling, and data lifecycle controls, usage stays efficient even as your infrastructure evolves.
Configuration Optimization: Improve cost efficiency through better architecture. Cloud ex Machina highlights configuration choices that drive unnecessary spend and recommends more cost effective alternatives. Intelligent defaults and built in guardrails help teams stay within budget while shipping quickly and safely.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You choose one subscription plan based on how much AWS spend you want the product to optimize. The Growth plan covers optimization up to $100,000 of AWS annual spend. The Pro plan covers optimization up to $400,000 of AWS monthly spend. The Enterprise plan covers optimization up to $1M of AWS monthly spend, with additional fees applying above that level. Each tier is billed as a contract, and you move up a plan as your covered spend grows.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
How is the covered spend measured for each plan — is it what I actually pay AWS?
Each plan sets a ceiling on the AWS spend the product will optimize. The Growth plan measures spend annually, up to $100,000 per year. The Pro and Enterprise plans measure spend monthly, up to $400,000 and $1M respectively. You pick the plan that matches your covered AWS bill.
What happens if my AWS spend goes above the Enterprise plan limit?
The Enterprise plan covers optimization up to $1M of AWS monthly spend. If your covered spend exceeds that level, additional fees apply above the $1M mark. The Growth and Pro plans do not list overage fees; you would move up to a plan that covers your spend.
What access does the product need to work across these plans?
Across all plans, the product connects with agentless, read-only access to your cloud APIs and data feeds. It also links to your code repositories, ticketing tools, communication systems, and single sign-on. This lets it map resources, assign owners, and push fixes into engineering workflows.
