Overview Apache Superset is a modern open source data exploration and business intelligence platform. It provides a rich SQL editor, a drag and drop chart builder, and interactive dashboards, and connects to any SQLAlchemy compatible database. This image delivers Apache Superset fully installed and configured as a single node deployment, so a complete analytics platform is running within minutes of launch. The current release available is Apache Superset 6.
Application Stack Apache Superset runs in a constraints pinned Python virtual environment and is served by the gunicorn application server on port 8088. A local PostgreSQL database stores Superset metadata. Redis provides caching and asynchronous query results. A Celery worker executes long running SQL Lab queries in the background. Every component runs as a managed systemd service.
Secure First Boot On the first boot of your instance a one shot service generates a fresh application secret key, a fresh PostgreSQL password, and a fresh Superset administrator password, unique to that instance, and writes the administrator password to a root only file. No shared or default credentials ship in the image.
Ready To Use The Superset web application, metadata database, cache and worker are all configured and started automatically. Browse to the instance address on port 8088 and sign in as the administrator to connect a database, explore data in SQL Lab, and build charts and dashboards.
cloudimg Support 24/7 technical support by email and chat. Help with Apache Superset deployment, upgrades, performance tuning, database connections and dashboard administration.
Use Cases Self service business intelligence and reporting. Interactive operational dashboards. Ad hoc data exploration with a SQL IDE. Visualization for data warehouses and OLAP engines.

Usage instructions
Connect via SSH on port 22 as the default login user for your operating system variant (the user guide lists it per variant). Apache Superset is served on port 8088. Browse to http://<instance-public-ip>:8088/ and sign in at /login/ as the 'admin' user. Retrieve the generated administrator password with: sudo cat /root/superset-credentials.txt. Port 8088 serves plain HTTP by design; terminate TLS at a reverse proxy for production, as described in the user guide.
