This product has charges associated with it for providing dedicated seller support and OS-level hardening by Blume in line with ANSSI compliance. The ANSSI Minimal Level Red Hat 9 AMI delivers a compliance-ready operating system that balances security and flexibility for production environments.
This is a repackaged software product wherein additional charges apply for dedicated seller support and operating system hardening by Blume.
Our AMIs are specifically hardened to meet ANSSI compliance at the level you select - whether High Level or Minimal Level. The Minimal Level configuration applies a core set of baseline controls that improve security while preserving flexibility and compatibility across diverse workloads, while the High Level configuration provides maximum security reinforcement for sensitive production environments.
The Agence Nationale de la Securite des Systemes dInformation ANSSI is the French National Cybersecurity Agency, responsible for defining and maintaining strict guidelines for securing information systems. Its recommended hardening guidelines establish a baseline of security controls designed to minimize vulnerabilities and enforce system integrity.
Minimal Level hardening applies essential security controls that strengthen the operating system against common threats, while maintaining performance and adaptability for a broad range of use cases.
High Level hardening applies the most stringent set of controls, focusing on maximum resilience and compliance for environments where security assurance is critical.
Achieving ANSSI compliance matters because it ensures that your operating system is configured against recognized security baselines, reducing vulnerabilities, strengthening resilience against attacks, and meeting regulatory or industry mandated governance standards. With Blumes hardening, you can trust that your OS is built to align with strict compliance expectations from the start.
Finally, our operating systems are not only compliance ready but are also consistently updated, ensuring that the latest security patches are applied in a timely manner to maintain protection and reliability in production environments.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for this Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image, hardened to ANSSI BP-028 Minimal Level controls and backed by seller support. Pricing is usage-based, so you are charged only for the hours each instance runs. The many options you see are not tiers or feature levels. Each one maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type, from small shared instances up to large memory, compute, storage, and accelerated machines. Your rate rises with the size and capability of the instance you select. Choose the instance that matches your workload, and the hourly software rate follows that choice.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly software rate actually cover beyond the operating system?
The rate covers a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image hardened to ANSSI BP-028 Minimal Level controls, plus seller support from Blume. You still pay AWS separately for the underlying compute, storage, and network you use. The software charge sits on top of those AWS infrastructure costs.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running instance-hours only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage fees for the saved volume may still apply while the instance is stopped, but that is an AWS infrastructure charge, not the software licence.
If I move to a bigger instance type, does the whole workload re-price or just the new hours?
Each instance meters its own hours at the rate tied to its instance type. Switching to a larger type changes the rate only from that point forward. Past hours stay billed at the previous instance type's rate. There are no tiers or feature upgrades, just the rate attached to whichever type runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
We recommend scoping your launched EC2 instance to only your internal network and restricting access to your own IP address for maximum security.
How to Connect to Your Red Hat 9 Instance Using SSH:
Locate your key pair: Ensure you have the .pem key pair file selected when launching the instance. Save it securely on your local machine.
Set permissions: Update the file permissions on the key file so it is not publicly viewable. Example: chmod 400 your-key.pem
Find the public DNS or IP: In the AWS Management Console, open the EC2 Dashboard and locate the Public DNS (IPv4) or Public IP of your instance.
Connect with SSH: From your terminal, run the following command, replacing your-key.pem with your key file and <public-dns> with your instance details: ssh -i your-key.pem ec2-user@<public-dns>
Accept the fingerprint: When prompted, confirm the fingerprint to establish the first-time connection.
You are now connected to your Red Hat 9 instance via SSH.
