This product has charges associated with it for providing dedicated seller support and OS-level hardening by Blume in line with ANSSI compliance. The ANSSI Minimal Level Red Hat 9 AMI delivers a compliance-ready operating system that balances security and flexibility for production environments.
This is a repackaged software product wherein additional charges apply for dedicated seller support and operating system hardening by Blume.
Our AMIs are specifically hardened to meet ANSSI compliance at the level you select - whether High Level or Minimal Level. The Minimal Level configuration applies a core set of baseline controls that improve security while preserving flexibility and compatibility across diverse workloads, while the High Level configuration provides maximum security reinforcement for sensitive production environments.
The Agence Nationale de la Securite des Systemes dInformation ANSSI is the French National Cybersecurity Agency, responsible for defining and maintaining strict guidelines for securing information systems. Its recommended hardening guidelines establish a baseline of security controls designed to minimize vulnerabilities and enforce system integrity.
Minimal Level hardening applies essential security controls that strengthen the operating system against common threats, while maintaining performance and adaptability for a broad range of use cases.
High Level hardening applies the most stringent set of controls, focusing on maximum resilience and compliance for environments where security assurance is critical.
Achieving ANSSI compliance matters because it ensures that your operating system is configured against recognized security baselines, reducing vulnerabilities, strengthening resilience against attacks, and meeting regulatory or industry mandated governance standards. With Blumes hardening, you can trust that your OS is built to align with strict compliance expectations from the start.
Finally, our operating systems are not only compliance ready but are also consistently updated, ensuring that the latest security patches are applied in a timely manner to maintain protection and reliability in production environments.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for this hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image on ARM-based instances. Pricing has one structure: an hourly software rate tied to the AWS EC2 instance type you run. Each listed dimension maps to a specific ARM instance size, from small shared types up to large and bare-metal options. Larger instances with more compute, memory, or storage carry higher hourly rates. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and the software charge applies only while the instance runs. Seller support and operating-system hardening are included across all instance choices.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what am I actually paying for?
Each unit is one running ARM-based EC2 instance of the listed type, billed per hour. The rate covers the hardened Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image, seller support, and operating-system hardening mapped to ANSSI BP-028 Minimal Level controls. Underlying AWS compute, storage, and data transfer are billed separately by AWS.
Am I charged the software rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. Stopped or paused instances do not accrue the software rate. You may still owe AWS for attached storage on a stopped instance, but the hardened-image software meter counts running hours only.
If I move to a larger ARM instance size, how does my cost change?
You select the instance type at launch, so the change is manual, not automatic. Each listed dimension maps to one instance size with its own hourly rate. Moving to a size with more compute, memory, or storage switches you to that size's rate for every hour it runs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
We recommend scoping your launched EC2 instance to only your internal network and restricting access to your own IP address for maximum security.
How to Connect to Your Red Hat 9 Instance Using SSH:
Locate your key pair: Ensure you have the .pem key pair file selected when launching the instance. Save it securely on your local machine.
Set permissions: Update the file permissions on the key file so it is not publicly viewable. Example: chmod 400 your-key.pem
Find the public DNS or IP: In the AWS Management Console, open the EC2 Dashboard and locate the Public DNS (IPv4) or Public IP of your instance.
Connect with SSH: From your terminal, run the following command, replacing your-key.pem with your key file and <public-dns> with your instance details: ssh -i your-key.pem ec2-user@<public-dns>
Accept the fingerprint: When prompted, confirm the fingerprint to establish the first-time connection.
You are now connected to your Red Hat 9 instance via SSH.
