    An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

    1. Launch an EC2 instance using this AMI.

    2. Allocate and attach an Elastic IP address.

    3. Configure your domain DNS to point to the server IP.

    4. Connect to the server using SSH.

    5. Update the GitLab External URL with your custom domain:

      sudo nano /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb

    6. Modify the following line:

      external_url 'https://your-domain.com '

    7. Save the file and apply changes:

      sudo gitlab-ctl reconfigure

    8. Open ports 22, 80, and 443 in the EC2 Security Group.

    9. Access GitLab in your browser using your configured domain.

    10. Retrieve the initial root password:

      sudo cat /etc/gitlab/initial_root_password

    11. Log in with username:

      root

    12. Change the root password after first login for security purposes.

    sudo gitlab-ctl status

    Restart all services

    sudo gitlab-ctl restart

    Check logs

    sudo gitlab-ctl tail

    Check disk space

    df -h

    Reconfigure (fix config issues)
