Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type used during disaster recovery. The five dimensions map to different instance sizes: t2.xlarge, t3.xlarge, t3a.xlarge, m4.xlarge, and m5.xlarge. Each represents a compute profile, letting you match billing to the instance you provision. Because charges are usage-based, you pay only when recovery compute runs, not during steady-state replication. Pricing scales with how many hours you run each instance type and which sizes you select. Choose the instance type that fits your recovered workload's compute and memory needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
No software charges accrue during steady-state replication because compute is not running. The product provisions EC2 instances only when you trigger failover. You pay hourly for the instance type only while recovery compute runs. Underlying AWS storage for replicated data may still apply separately.
Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type: t2.xlarge, t3.xlarge, t3a.xlarge, m4.xlarge, or m5.xlarge. These are xlarge sizes offering four virtual CPUs with differing processor families and memory profiles. You select the type that matches your recovered workload's compute and memory needs.
Each instance type bills independently by the hour. Your total is the sum of hours run per type, multiplied by that type's rate. Running more instances or larger sizes raises cost. Longer recovery events also increase hours billed. Charges appear only for the time recovery compute actually runs.
