What counts as one API Call versus one Vision AI operation for billing?
An API Call is any authenticated request to the operational API, like listing or updating assets. Vision AI operations are analysis tasks such as label detection and safety moderation, billed separately per image. A typical ingest runs two Vision AI operations: tagging and moderation. Each meters independently.
Am I charged when an API request fails or a virus scan blocks a file?
Any transaction returning an HTTP failure, such as validation errors or unauthorized requests, is overridden to zero cost. You are never charged for failures. Antivirus scans bill from first usage per file scanned, whether or not malware is found. Retries with an idempotency key reuse a cached response without double billing.
How do the three MIMI editing tiers and Background Swap combine on a single image?
Each generative edit bills once per output. Lite Edit (1K), Standard Edit (2K), and Native 4K Edit each bill at their own rate by resolution. Background Swap bills once per unique image cutout, then cached composites are free. Standard Edit includes a free 4K export upscale. Tiers do not stack unless you request separate edits.

You may cancel your subscription anytime via AWS to halt future billing. For metering errors or technical anomalies, please contact

within 30 days of your invoice. Such refund requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis at our discretion and processed directly through AWS.
