Try this product free for 7 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. The software carries no separate license fee; each dimension reflects a different virtual machine size and family. Options span general-purpose (m, t), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r), and storage-optimized (i) families across several hardware generations. Within each family, sizes like nano, micro, small, medium, large, and xlarge scale up CPU and memory. Larger sizes cost more per hour. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing tracks actual running hours. Any AWS infrastructure charges apply separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing unit cover, and what runs on the instance?
One unit is one running EC2 instance measured per hour. The instance runs a preconfigured Samba file server with SMB, FTP, SFTP, NFS, WebDAV, and rsync support, plus a web-based file manager. You pick the instance size that matches your storage and user load.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
Hourly software charges track running hours only. A stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software charge. Note that AWS may still bill separately for attached storage while the instance is stopped. Those AWS infrastructure charges are billed by AWS, not included in this listing.
Does choosing a larger instance change what the file server can do?
No. Every instance size runs the same file server software and protocols. Larger sizes give more CPU and memory, which supports more simultaneous users and heavier file transfers. Smaller sizes suit light workloads. The feature set does not change with the size you pick.
