Monitor your entire server estate from a single pane of glass. Redgate Monitor Standard delivers complete observability across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL and MongoDB, on premises, on Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora and across hybrid environments. Your team gets the performance insight, intelligent alerting and cloud cost visibility to confidently migrate, optimize and modernize on AWS.

MONITOR YOUR ENTIRE ESTATE FROM A SINGLE PANE OF GLASS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL and MongoDB, all in one place. Get one unified view of all your instances, availability groups, clusters and virtual machines, then drill down from any of them to detailed performance statistics. Add new servers as your estate grows and track configurations, installed versions and patches, licensing, disk usage and backups from the same place.

OPTIMIZE CLOUD PERFORMANCE AND CONTROL SPEND When you migrate to Amazon RDS for SQL Server, Amazon Aurora or Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, Redgate Monitor gives you full visibility into database performance before, during and after the move. Your team can baseline workloads, catch performance drops the moment they occur and go live with confidence instead of surprises. The same real time visibility follows your workloads across hybrid and cloud native environments, from one central dashboard.

Virtual machine cost data flows directly from AWS into the platform, turning cloud cost unpredictability into financial control. See allocated versus actual usage across vCPUs, memory and storage for every virtual machine in your estate, compare spend period over period and identify where provisioning significantly exceeds consumption. Right sizing decisions become evidence based, directly supporting the cost optimization and performance efficiency pillars of the AWS Well Architected Framework.

FAST DIAGNOSIS AND PROACTIVE RESOLUTION Optimize performance and mitigate risks across your database estate with instant problem diagnosis, intelligent alerting and deep dive performance metrics. Customizable alerts tailored to your environment keep the answers to the health of your estate at your fingertips, so your team can drill into potential issues and resolve them before they affect users. Every deployment is tracked alongside key database metrics on the instance timeline, so when unusual behavior follows a release you know exactly where to start your investigation.

EVERYTHING YOUR TEAM NEEDS, BUILT TO SCALE Redgate Monitor Standard includes the complete core monitoring feature set: the global dashboard, customizable alerting, query impact analysis, deployment tracking, reporting and monitoring across every supported platform. It works for the whole team, getting new starters up and running quickly without sacrificing the diagnostic depth experienced DBAs expect. When you need automated security auditing, permission tracking or the Data API, upgrade to Redgate Monitor Enterprise at any point in your contract period.

    Dimensions summary

Redgate Monitor Standard uses a contract pricing model built around a single dimension: one server license. You buy one license per server, no matter how many database instances run on that server. Pricing scales with the number of servers you monitor, so you add licenses as your estate grows. Volume pricing is available, so you contact Redgate directly for rates when licensing multiple servers. This single unit keeps the structure simple: your cost tracks the server count in your monitored environment.

    Top-of-mind questions for buyers

One license covers a single physical or virtual server, no matter how many database instances run on it. If you host multiple database instances on one server, they all fall under a single license. You add another license for each additional server you monitor.
Cost tracks the number of servers you monitor. Each new server you add requires its own license, so your total rises by one license per added server. Adding more database instances to an existing server does not raise the license count. Contact Redgate for volume pricing when licensing multiple servers.
One server license covers monitoring for common relational and document database platforms. It works across on-premises servers, virtual machines, and cloud-hosted or hybrid setups. The same license gives you one dashboard view of instances on that server, whatever platform or location they run in.

Easy, Intuitive SQL Server Insights That Save Time And Effort

    Reviewed on Jul 28, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to use and helps to quickly and easily surface difficult to get information about SQL Server, e.g. digging through DMV's will get the same information, but would take a lot longer.
The price provides good value for money too.
The UI is responsive and intuitive so senior leadership can understand what the is being shown too
What do you dislike about the product?
I have quite a specific issue, where I want to be able to track execution plan changes for a particular query, and while the information is in Redgate, it takes many clicks to get to is
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps to prove/disprove that SQL Server is the issue as the DB is the foundation for the applications we are building.
It also allows us to identify the issue with the DB if it is a DB issue much more quickly than would be possible otherwise, leading to faster resolutions for customer tickets

Simple, Fast Setup with Highly Customisable UI

    Reviewed on Jul 28, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
The setup/UI is very simple to learn while offering a high level of customisability. Initial setup is fast and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found no major issues with RedGate Monitor. There are free monitoring solutions available, but I have found them to be less functional and not fully supported.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's biggest benefit to us is allowing to delve into the history of performance issues, allowing more detailed troubleshooting of temporary problems, or problems significant enough where restoring performance takes priority over understanding the trigger

The things that I like best on Redgate Monitor is the complete set of metrics and alerts that come out of the box, the ease of use and setup and the possibility to easily setup new custom alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far I have not found a real point that I dislike, coming from another product it took some time to adjust to the new way of presenting data, that's all!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For example I was able to immediately spot a problem on one database that was not showed by the previous product and to solve it proactively.

RedgateRedgate SQL Monitor is a powerful insight, costly trade-offs monitoring software

    Reviewed on Jul 27, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Works seamlessly across platform, single pane of glass view. Equipped with Monitor AI to automatically surface bottlenecks. Avoids “alert fatigue” by letting admins prioritize critical issues. Enterprise edition includes permission visibility and auditing tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its high licensing costs, resource consumption on large estates, and limited customization in alerts and reporting
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It identifies slow queries, blocking, deadlocks, and resource spikes, and it alerts me before failures escalate into outages. It also solves the problem of being overwhelmed by irrelevant notifications, and it can track permissions and changes for auditing.
