This listing offers Redgate Monitor Standard under a single contract dimension priced per server. You buy one license for each server you want to monitor. That one license covers the server no matter how many database instances run on it. Pricing scales with the number of servers in your estate, so larger estates need more licenses. Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One license covers one physical or virtual server, regardless of how many database instances run on it. If you run multiple databases on a single server, that server still needs just one license. Separate servers each require their own license.

Fairly easy to set up and use, monitoring is easily digestible.

Alerting was a bit of a pain to set up but that is a minor nitpick.

What do you like best about the product?
Monitor makes it easy for us to receive immediate relevant notifications and alerts about performance, locking and other impactful events across our whole estate of SQL Servers. That single portal for monitoring all of our SQL Servers makes life so much easier. It is easy to setup and configure and can be tailored to the specific notifications that are most relevant to you or your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times I feel like I am not maximising what we could be getting from the product. A lot of that is on me and to do with not having the time to spend more time becoming expert in the product. Occasionally (and this is in relation to previous versions and we havent had any issue with this in the last year) I have had it where regardless of what I did I could not get a server to connect to monitor. That almost made the product unusable for us for about 8 months. However, Redgate appear to have resolved this issue and we have begun using Monitor again for more than a year now with no issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Above all it gives you monitoring, visibility and immediate notification of events that could potentially be impacting your applications. It is invaluable in that regard and saves our DBA so much time.

What do you like best about the product?
I really like the new AI feature. Just today, I planned a service window for a SQL Server Enterprise cluster hosting several instances by asking the Red Gate assistant in a prompt.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing is on the high end, so I can’t afford to host all of my servers there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me troubleshoot my servers and optimize their usage.
