Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

Private Cloud Infrastructure
Fixed infrastructure costs that include a private VPC, dedicated compute, private networking, unlimited autoscaling, and more.
This contract pairs a fixed Private Cloud Infrastructure fee with separate usage-based charges you pay only for what you consume. Each resource type bills independently: application compute, websocket server compute, managed cache, object storage, and data transfer. Managed databases split into two meters, one for compute and one for storage. VPC or service-based peering carries its own usage charge. Artisan Support adds tailored assistance for migration, performance, and cost efficiency. You can combine these dimensions as needed, so your total scales with the resources and support your applications actually use.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Am I charged for application compute when my app is idle or sleeping?
No. Application compute can scale to zero when traffic stops, so you are not charged for compute while the app sleeps. It wakes in under 500 milliseconds when a request arrives. Managed database storage is always billed, but compute pauses during idle periods.
How do the separate compute and storage charges for managed databases combine on my bill?
Managed databases bill on two independent meters. Compute charges reflect active database processing and can scale down during idle periods. Storage charges apply continuously based on stored data volume. Both appear together on your invoice, so storage persists even when compute pauses.
What is included in the fixed Private Cloud Infrastructure charge?
The Private Cloud Infrastructure charge covers fixed costs for a private VPC, dedicated compute, private networking, and autoscaling. It is billed as a set fee rather than metered usage. Service-based or VPC peering carries its own separate usage charge on top of this.
