cloudSwXtch from swXtch.io is a virtual overlay network that adds feature rich, high performance networking to your cloud or edge applications. cloudSwXtch is simple to deploy and requires no code changes to existing applicaitons.
The cloudSwXtch is a network appliance that is deployed as a VM image so it can be created with any tools that create VMs.
This plan allows users to deploy and test all cloudSwXtch functionality on a PAYG basis. No support is included. Please see our SaaS support options for assistance during PoCs.
Unrestricted switch bandwidth (egress),
Unrestricted client connections (consumer/producer VMs),
Protocol fanout and conversion,
Full mesh capabilities,
SMPTE 2022-7 High availability,
Supports a single bridge connection,
Includes a license for Tachyon Live.
Please see http://docs.swxtch.io/ for more information in cloudSwXtch features and capabilities.
Highlights
Plug and Play - Existing applications and services that expect standards-based IP multicast and broadcast will work in Azure without requiring any code changes.
Simplified Workflows - cloudSwXtch allows your endpoints to dynamically subscribe and unsubscribe to your streams as needed. Even if those flows are coming in from off cloud!
wXcked Fast - Moving high-performance systems to the cloud can be difficult. cloudSwXtch enables massive bandwidth with sub-millisecond latency for most applications.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for this trial and proof-of-concept version. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, priced per hour of use. The instance you pick sets your rate, since cloudSwXtch runs on its own virtual machine and throughput depends on the VM size. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates than smaller ones. There is no upfront commitment; billing follows actual usage. You can start or stop instances as your test needs change, so costs track the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get when I select one of these hourly instance dimensions?
Each dimension runs cloudSwXtch on its own Linux-based virtual machine tied to that EC2 instance type. The instance you pick sets the throughput of the switch. Larger instances support higher bandwidth and packet rates. Virtual machines or containers connect through a small software agent retrieved from the running cloudSwXtch.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped, for example between test sessions?
Software charges accrue per hour while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, hourly software billing stops. You can start and stop instances as test needs change, and costs track only the hours each instance is running. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply separately.
This listing is labeled for trials and PoCs. What does that mean for how billing works?
This is a usage-metered evaluation offering with no upfront commitment. You pay per instance-hour as you test. An evaluation offering is provided as-is for demonstration or testing purposes. Under the license terms, it can convert to a subscription or metered basis unless you cancel before the evaluation period ends.

AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
In the next page keep the default template selection and click Next.
Type an appropriate stack name.
For CidrIpForInboundOutboundTraffic select the CIDR IP block to allow inbound SSH traffic. This will also specify the allowed outbound IP addresses. Using 0.0.0.0/0 will allow the swxtch to access to automatically upgrade to the latest version during first time instance creation.
The instance type will be set to the recommended instance type for the cloudSwXtch product you select
You will need to select control and data subnets from the drop down.
For the PassedSwxtchSecurityGroup keep it as default if you want a new security group created or type an existing the Security group ID.
Once the swxtch is up and running you can SSH to the EC2 instance with the username ubuntu over port 22
To confirm that the cloudSwXtch is up and running run "sudo /swxtch/swxtch-top". If it launches with no errors, Status field showing OK, then your swxtch is up successfully.
You can find more info on how to configure agents to connect to the cloudSwXtch by following the linked detailed deployment instructions at the top.
If you assign the agents the default security group created in your cloudSwXtch deployment, it will ensure that traffic is not getting filtered by security group rules.
