You pay only for what you use across independent monitoring modules. Each dimension bills on its own unit, so you can mix and match capabilities. Data-volume options scale by timeseries, traces, profiles, log events, GB, page views, sessions, or API runs. Host-based options like Network Monitoring, Cloud Cost Management, and Event Management bill per host. Other options bill per scanned GB, per report sent, or per forwarded GB for internal or external storage. Function Calls and Common cover platform usage. Nothing requires an upfront commitment; costs rise as your usage grows.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one host for the per-host options like Network Monitoring or Event Management?
A host is any monitored server, virtual machine, or device running the agent. Each host is counted individually. Network Monitoring, Cloud Cost Management, and Event Management bill per host, with Cloud Cost Management and Event Management charged per host per month.
How do the two Log Management options and the two Data Forwarding options differ for billing?
Log Management bills either per million log events or per GB per day, so you pick the unit matching your ingestion pattern. Data Forwarding bills per GB, with separate rates for external storage and internal storage depending on where forwarded data lands.
If I only use one module, do I pay for the others?
No. Each dimension bills independently on its own unit. You only accrue charges for the modules you actually use. Data-volume modules meter timeseries, traces, logs, or similar; host-based modules meter active hosts. Costs from separate modules add together on one usage bill.
