Each option maps to an AWS instance type across several families: general-purpose (m, t), compute-optimized (c), memory-optimized (r, x, z), storage-optimized (i, d), and accelerated computing with GPUs or specialized chips (g, p, inf, trn, f, vt). Larger sizes within a family carry higher hourly rates. You choose the size that fits your workload and pay only for hours used.

What does the hourly software charge cover, and what runs on the instance?
The hourly rate pays for the Qdrant vector database software plus ThinkCloud support, running on the AWS EC2 instance type you select. Qdrant is a vector search engine used for similarity search and AI applications. The rate varies by instance type, since each maps to different compute, memory, and storage capacity.
Am I charged when the EC2 instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. When you stop the instance, the software charge stops accruing. You are not billed the hourly software rate for powered-off instances. Note that underlying AWS storage or other AWS fees may still apply separately from this software charge.
How does the total bill combine the software charge and AWS infrastructure cost?
You pay two separate line items. The hourly rate shown here is the software and support charge for the instance type you run. AWS bills its own EC2 infrastructure charge separately. Both accrue per hour the instance runs and appear together. Larger instance sizes raise both the software charge and the AWS charge.
