You pay by the hour for this Windows Server 2019 image bundled with the GigaOps Security Agent. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific Amazon EC2 instance type, and you pay only for the hours you run. Rates scale with the instance you choose. Smaller instances like nano, micro, and large sizes cost less per hour than larger sizes such as 12xlarge, 24xlarge, or metal instances. Compute-focused (c), memory-focused (r, x), storage (d, i), and GPU or accelerator families (g, p, inf, trn) each carry their own hourly rate. You select the instance that fits your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
Each rate covers a running Windows Server 2019 image with the GigaOps Security Agent installed on that Amazon EC2 instance type. The instance type sets your compute, memory, and storage capacity. You pay one combined hourly software rate for every hour that instance runs.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running hours only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. Note that separate AWS charges, such as storage for attached volumes, may still apply while the instance is stopped.
Why do larger instance types cost more per hour for the same software?
The hourly rate reflects the underlying instance size you select. Larger families and sizes carry more compute, memory, or accelerator capacity, so their rate is higher. The bundled Windows Server 2019 image and GigaOps Security Agent are the same across every instance type.
