You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. This listing packages the open-source design tool with vendor security and support, billed per hour of usage. The 18 dimensions map to specific AWS instance types across two families: t2 and t3 burstable instances, and m3 and m4 general-purpose instances. Within each family, sizes range from medium up to larger types like 2xlarge, 4xlarge, 10xlarge, and 16xlarge. Larger instances carry more compute and memory, so their hourly rate rises. You choose the size that fits your workload and scale by switching instances.

You are billed for each hour the EC2 instance runs the software. Each dimension maps to one AWS instance type, such as t3.large or m4.2xlarge. The rate reflects that instance's compute and memory. Running one instance for one hour equals one billed hour on that dimension.
Software charges accrue only while the instance runs. A stopped or paused instance does not generate hourly software charges. Underlying AWS storage or other resource fees may still apply separately, but the per-hour software rate meters running time only.
Your hourly rate packages the open-source design tool with vendor security hardening and support. The vendor helps with deployment, configuration, optimization, and ongoing management. This includes proactive monitoring and L2/L3 troubleshooting to reduce downtime, regardless of which instance size you choose.

After deployment, you can access your application at http://<public IP>. (It might take up to 15 minutes to be available post-deployment). The machine is accessible via SSH, default username: ubuntu. Where relevant, app login credentials are available on message of the day (and /etc/motd).
