Customizable Platform with a Great Reporting System

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Love that it is customizable, and the reporting system is great. The reporting system can be a little clunky to use, but its just that when you choose a date range, I have to hit enter on the keyboard in order for the date I choose to stick. I can't just click on it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can take a long time to process images since a lot of our specific images need individual keywords/ tags. But I am sure that would be with any system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's providing a central campus-wide location for all Marketing images that allows broad access. We love it!

Centralized Asset Management with Quick Editing

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really love the fact that we can resize photos within Canto and export them either in high resolution or low resolution for social media. We can do the same with videos, cutting clips to the length we need. It saves us an additional step of exporting a larger file, opening a different program, and doing those same things there, allowing us to eliminate that step and get deliverables out the door more quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not a giant fan of the folders and albums setup. I like the idea of having everything in one central place and using the filters to sort. But when it comes to constructing a client portal, it's a lot more practical to still have everything organized into different folders. I would rather be organizing my assets within a folder structure system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Canto as a central place for our remote team to access and share digital assets, avoiding multiple computers or internal servers. It allows easy resizing and exporting of photos and videos, eliminating additional steps and speeding up deliverables.

Effective digital asset management tool for marketing photography

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Canto allows shared access to photo content across an organization; this provides a curated inventory of photography we can all draw from for marketing purposes without having to make individual requests. It cuts down on email volume and file sharing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The filters, keyword searches, and tags feel clunky and sometimes difficult to find content. It's one of those "output is only as good as the input scenarios" and my organization has gotten better with curating tags to make this a more useable feature over time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reduced need to file share - especially large photos - across and beyond the organization (if login is granted). Reduces the need to make requests and allows access to a robust inventory of photography that can be used across mediums.

What do you like best about the product?
Folder structure intact and very intuitive. Easy learning curve for onboarding. Customer support has been excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
i'm unsure about the new library look but it's early days in their development so still very optimistic
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A more cohesive DAM with more functionality and integrations straight out of the box

Decent Entry-Level DAM, Needs Intuitive UX

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I leverage Canto for asset storage and organization, from brand elements to photo and video work. I appreciate that it creates a centralized repository for the internal team to access and share easily. It is easy to organize, tag, and curate elements. Canto has various permission levels that make it easy to involve the full team with the right level of access. I find the tagging fairly intuitive, helping make search and discovery easy and intuitive. It also keeps our assets safe by ensuring only certain people can delete.
What do you dislike about the product?
Canto has a rougher interface than other DAM tools and a lot of the new functions are add-ons vs baked into the core experience. It did not have as frictionless onboarding and set-up as other tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto creates a centralized repository for assets, making it easy to organize, tag, and curate elements. It enhances security with various permission levels, facilitating safe access and intuitive tagging for easy search and discovery.

Great for Photo Upload Links and Approvals, but Setup Takes Time

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ways we can use it for sending out links for our colleagues to upload their photos but we can still approve them so we don't have hundreds of repeat pictures.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve is a little difficult and just getting all of your assets over and set up is a process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Giving us a more refined and easy to use DAM that also utilizes AI more and facial recognition

User-Friendly but Needs More Flexible Permissions

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Canto is user-friendly and allows for an easy system flow and organization of assets. It enables us to have multiple folders and subfolders, along with naming, tagging, and keywords, so that photos and videos are searchable and easy to find for everyone on our large team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that there's limited user powers for anyone other than power users, which makes it time-consuming for just our 3 power users to go back and add tags or keywords to uploaded assets. It would be great if all users could do this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto allows for easy-to-find assets like videos and photos. The platform is user-friendly and offers seamless system flow, enabling easy organization with multiple folders, naming, tagging, and keywords for searchable content. It's beneficial for managing digital assets in our nonprofit.

AI-Powered Photo Search, Needs Speed Tweaks

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Canto's AI Search feature that allows me to quickly find photos. I can type in descriptions like 'smiling people,' and it efficiently pulls up relevant images. Setting up Canto was also easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Canto runs slow or gets bogged down in the browser. While still helpful, it can take a while to load after putting in a search term.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto helps me find relevant photos quickly. I like the AI Search because I can type in terms like 'smiling people' and get precise results.

Canto Streamlines Asset Sharing Despite Integration Hurdles

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Canto as a digital asset tool for my organization, and it really helps us by allowing our entire organization to see images, graphics, and access marketing materials that were previously siloed to just the marketing team. Now, we can share it with everyone. The portals are a very cool way to share assets with both external people and internally with the team. Sharing brand materials with other organizations and images internally with teams has become easier. The initial setup of Canto was easy too.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the workspaces and integrations. They don't work for us. I also don't like how unless you purchase more user seats consumers can't access workspaces or out of the infinite number of consumers we CAN have we CAN'T reduce that number to allow for more power seat users to use those features without paying more. It kind of sucks that in order to let users have access to features they need to be a power seat user and pay more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Canto allows our entire organization to access images and marketing materials, breaking down silos. The portals are a cool way to share assets internally and with external parties, making sharing brand materials effortless.

Custom Curated Links and Helpful Portals for Sharing Product Info

  • February 10, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
For me, it is the ability to custom curated links of materials. Also, the portals have been really helpful in spoon feeding our dealers information on certain products.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm a visual person, so not having images on the folders is a bummer. Also, when in a portal, you have to link to files and those don't automatically get a thumbnail image. I have to go searching for the assets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm just barely into Canto for a year so not much has changed since I've started using it. Looking forward to the new library experience when that goes live though.
