Great product for digital media success!
What do you like best about the product?
The Meltwater tool has a lot of features, so many so that it may feel overwhelming at first, but they are clearly demarcated in the software. Particularly useful for us are the Media Relations tool, which allows us to quickly find journalists active across the world, as we are active and invest in multiple countries. The other features that are incredibly useful not just for our stakeholder management team, but also other internal stakeholders, are the automated Daily news Alerts, which provides a comprehensive overview of where we've been mentioned in the media, so much so that we were able to cancel another subscription we used for media monitoring and allocate those resources elsewhere.
Customer support has also been great, the success managers (while they do rotate out fairly often) are proactive and have helped support our journey throughout, particularly with trainings, onboarding new users, and refining our media monitoring and searches. And the new AI Mira chatbot, while having some bugs, has made it much easier to search for contacts and journalists!

What do you dislike about the product?
The platform can sometimes be a bit laggy on web, so it does take a while to load at points, but given the amount of resources it provides it is understandable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing us a comprehensive overview of where we stand in the media and where we're mentioned, anywhere in the world. With a lot of local outlets writing about us (we're active in dozens of countries worldwide), it's impossible to manually keep track of them, so this easily saves us dozens of hours a month. And it's great for analyzing overall sentiment and reporting this info internally.
Intuitive Platform for Effortless Media Monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
I find Meltwater easy to use and intuitive. I also like the social media dashboard feature, which I've used at different places of employment. One thing that stands out is the simplicity of the initial setup since I was already familiar with the software, I just needed a login. I appreciate having everything in one place, like the media monitoring and database. Overall, I appreciate the features I've used.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't get to use the social media dashboard, but I'm hoping that one day we might be able to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater solves the problem of manually finding news for the core reporting and captioning profession, which we need on a weekly basis.
Seamless Media Monitoring with Stellar Support
What do you like best about the product?
I like Meltwater for its ease of use, making it simple for my team to navigate the platform without any hassle. I really appreciate the ability to search as many times as needed with unlimited keyword searching, which is crucial for our work. The customer service is excellent; the team was great to work with during setup and ensured we had everything we needed. Meltwater allows my team to use the platform seamlessly without worrying about sharing seats or hitting search maximums.
What do you dislike about the product?
The quality of the search results sometimes picks up syndications and not the original article. When it lists 'duplications' for articles, maybe make it so the original article is visible and you click in to find the syndications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps with media monitoring and social listening by providing news alerts, media scans, and social monitoring. It allows unlimited keyword searches without sharing seats, making it seamless for my team.
Comprehensive Media Database That Makes Journalist Research Fast and Easy
What do you like best about the product?
Its comprehensive database of media contacts helps us save time when researching who might be the best person to reach out to for a particular story. The embedded social media profiles, along with links to journalists’ work, also help us understand not only what their beat is, but whether our story is truly a good fit.
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints at this time. We don’t use it for pitching, though, since all of our outreach is 1:1. Our process is a bit more laborious, but it has still led to good results so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes my workload much, much faster overall. Having daily news reports sent directly to company leadership helps keep everyone on the same page when it comes to mentions. The reporting features also drastically reduce the time I would otherwise spend tracking media hits. On top of that, their team is great about providing support whenever it’s needed.
Centralized Platform for Easy Media Management
What do you like best about the product?
I really like how Meltwater allows me to put together slides in various media reports and decks. This is my favorite feature because before, I had to do all this independently. Now, I can plug it into preexisting dashboards, which makes the process much smoother. Additionally, it makes sharing reports with clients more straightforward as it takes out a lot of the entry-level middleman work, enabling us to focus on the core issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that the alerting system was a little bit more user friendly, just for the actual content that you see within an email when you're pinged. I wish that that was maybe a little bit more user friendly on the phone, so that for on the go, if we're trying to figure out what needs to be forwarded, opening links, that kind of thing, I wish that was a bit more seamless.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater centralizes tasks I used to do manually, like Google searches and alerts, into one dashboard. It helps create media reports and decks easily, saving me time on entry-level tasks and allowing me to focus on important issues for my clients.
Valuable AI Analysis and Data Extraction for Crisis Trend Insights
What do you like best about the product?
The data extraction and AI analysis are the most valuable parts for me. They help identify trends during a crisis and understand who the authors are, along with overall engagement trends.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some API limitations with social media platforms when it comes to extracting data from the day we enter #. We need backdated Instagram data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My social listening mentions help me track what people are saying about my brand, so I can identify issues and work on them accordingly. I can also follow conversations about my brand and review insights like word clouds, demographics, authors, and more.
Great Media Lists and Top-Notch Support, but Menus Can Be Confusing
What do you like best about the product?
The media lists are great, and the customer service is absolutely top notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the menus, etc. are not super user friendly. We spend a lot of time trying to "undo" inadvertent mistakes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater lets us reach a lot of media in an efficient way.
Effective Press Release Tool with Extensive Media Reach
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Meltwater has extensive lists filled with a wide variety of media journalists and media sources that we can reach out to. This helps us get more coverage for our press releases. I also appreciate that we have the freedom to create our own lists, benefitting from the large database available. Plus, the initial setup was very easy, making the transition smooth.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's very rare, but once in a while, I'll have a situation where I can't find a city on the map and there's no journalist available in that area.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater reaches a vast number of media outlets, giving us better coverage on our press releases.
Great Interface and Functionality
What do you like best about the product?
Interface and functionality. It's UX design is great, and anything you'd like to do seems to be there.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price and constant changing. Its very expensive and I understand there's always improvements but there are too many changes to get used to the platform and then have it change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Letting us monitor the internet for topics related to us. We like to be updated regularly with what is being talked about and the email alerts and easy to use searches are very helpful.
Great Centralized Lists, but Reporting Filters and Boolean Setup Are Confusing
What do you like best about the product?
Centralized lists are the best! Reporting is good, but difficult to cull out what isn't needed. Customer support has been very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting up reporting so that I don't get results I don't need. The boolean is confusing to set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to gather contact information on a national level - to reach smaller markets - would be nearly impossible without this system.
