Sportswear Textile Developer Little King Smashes Personal Best with Key Reports in 40 minutes on AWS

Little King gains real-time access to critical business data using SAP S/4HANA on AWS generating key reports in 40 minutes instead of seven days. The company provides advanced textiles to leading sportswear companies. SAP S/4HANA on AWS runs on Amazon EC2 instances with Amazon Aurora Serverless to auto scale Little King’s supply chain management database.

The sportswear market is estimated to be worth $248.1 billion by 2026 as populations become more health conscious and take up fitness activities such as running, hiking, and aerobics.

Taiwan-based Little King is helping companies like Adidas, Nike and Under Armour meet this growing demand by supplying advanced textiles for their sportswear ranges.
With competition increasing, Little King sought to improve efficiency by upgrading its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. Its on-premises infrastructure needed refreshing every five years, requiring significant capital investment. Additionally, its ERP system provided poor visibility into business processes.

Ensuring Continued Development with SAP on AWS

Little King replaced its ERP with SAP S/4HANA on Amazon Web Services with the support of AWS Partner, eCloudvalley. Says YC Liao, IT manager at Little King, “We chose to run SAP S/4HANA on AWS because of the range of services available for future development compared to other cloud providers.”

With SAP S/4HANA on AWS, Little King gains real-time insight into purchase and order systems, including cost analysis. The platform runs on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances that scale up and down with workloads.

The business also uses Amazon Aurora Serverless to auto scale its supply chain management database without management intervention, and Amazon CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail for data security.

Delivering Reports in 40 Minutes

By leveraging real-time data from SAP S/4HANA on AWS, Little King is improving production and development efficiency, which helps retain global clients. The business can now generate operational reports in 40 minutes that previously took 7 days. “We couldn’t pull data from across the business into a single report in the past but can do so seamlessly with SAP S/4HANA on AWS,” says Liao.

Improving Sustainability, with No Energy Wasted

Little King can cost-effectively scale its infrastructure running SAP S/4HANA, and no resource is wasted on idle servers. “We’re improving the quality and the delivery of our products with SAP S/4HANA on AWS while operating in a more efficient way,” concludes Liao.
