    An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Usage instructions

    • mysql_secure_installation script has been run already and the root user password has been set to the EC2 instance id.
    • SSH into the EC2 instance as user specific to the operating system. For CentOS it is centos.
    • Connect to the database as user root using EC2 node instance id as the password. Change password as needed, and create additional database objects as needed for the applications.
    • To deploy a PHP application on the newly spun up node follow the steps provided in the AMI documentation.
    • Ports 22 (SSH), 80 (HTTP) and 443 (HTTPS) will be opened by default. If the web application runs on non-standard ports that needs to be opened on the security group.
