Overview
Cloud-based concurrency limiting
Concurrent Access Protection (CAP) is a concurrent playback limiting service that helps you reduce the impact of password sharing.
With CAP, you can limit how many people can access your video content from a single user account or per particular video asset. The service will monitor active user session and automatically block any viewing session above the limit.
Why limit active user sessions?
If a streaming platform allowed unlimited sessions, one subscription could be shared by dozens or hundreds of people. This can damage both revenue and the overexerted infrastructure.
So if you are sharing your video content through:
- subscription-based VOD platforms
- exclusive Pay-Per-View events: sports matches, tournaments, MMA championships
- live ticket-only event transmissions: festivals, conferences, premieres
- any streaming platform that focuses on licensed content and needs to meet the agreement-required concurrency limits,
CAP can help you protect your bottom line, combat account sharing among your users, and gather more data about their active viewing session.
Highlights
- Limit the number of viewers that can simultaneously watch your videos from a single account.
- Protect your most premium videos by setting separate per-asset session limits.
- Follow your users' sessions to gain extended insight about their viewing experience.
