You pay by the hour for this hardened Ubuntu 22 image, with no upfront commitment. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS EC2 instance type you choose at launch. The hourly software rate is tied to the instance you run, so pricing scales with the compute size and family you select. Smaller instances like t-family and nano/micro sizes carry lower hourly rates, while larger and specialized families such as memory-optimized, compute-optimized, GPU, and bare-metal instances carry higher rates. You run only the instances you need and stop paying when you stop them.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover for this hardened Ubuntu 22 image?
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The rate reflects the software licence for that instance size and family. You run the image on your own chosen instance, and each active instance meters its own hourly charge separately.
Am I charged the software rate when I stop or pause an instance?
The hourly software charge applies only while an instance runs. When you stop an instance, software metering stops too. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the Gigabits software licence meters running hours only.
If I run several instances at once, how does my total bill form?
Each running instance bills independently at the hourly rate for its own instance type. The charges add together on your invoice. Running more instances, or larger instance families, raises the total. The instance size and family you select drives each line's rate.
