    Overview

Levitate is a time series & events warehouse designed for scale, high cardinality, and long-term retention. Our warehousing capabilities provide necessary control levers to ensure cost-efficient data growth management, surpassing traditional storage solutions.

    • Open Standards Compatible

Levitate can ingest data from multiple open & proprietary standards, such as Prometheus exposition, OpenTelemetry Metrics, OpenMetrics, and even custom proprietary formats. Easily extendable adapters enable seamless integration with Telegraf, InfluxDB, and AWS Metrics Cloudwatch Stream, making Levitate the ultimate unified metrics warehouse.

    • Superior workflows to tame High Cardinality

Levitate equips you with essential levers to manage concurrency, cardinality, and data variety effectively. Simplified workflows facilitate stream aggregation, flow control, rate limiting, or rollups. Levitate, by default, offers superior cardinality limits of up to 20M time series per metric per day.

    • Automatic Data Tiering

Levitate allows the creation of different data tiers that also helps with better concurrency control. Alerting workloads can now be run off the blaze tier, while Data Science and other historical dashboards and reports can be powered by the Cold or Glacial tiers. Creating tiers on the fly gives platform and reliability engineers enough control levers to move and optimize workloads while ensuring costs do not escalate. Levitate also offers one year of data retention without rollups out of the box.

    • Optimized Query Engine

Levitate supports PromQL for queries. Leveraging data tiering from the storage layer, you can effectively do client separation by using Access Tokens with access to specific tiers. An Alert manager can use a token with read access to the Blaze tier, and Grafana dashboards can happily keep reading from the Hot tier. The data science team can use the Cold tier without hampering live on-call and debugging. Slow queries can be made faster by boosting them in Levitate's dashboard, achieving query acceleration. Levitate also supports Delta Caching, making repeat queries faster.

    • Reimagined Alerting

Irrespective of your tool choice, a few problems plague today's alerting journey - coverage, fatigue, and cleanup. Unfortunately, there are no easy answers to these complex problems. However, with advanced features like Alert Macros, Algorithmic Alerting, and a redesigned Alert Manager designed with high cardinality in mind, Levitate helps you stay ahead. In addition to being fully PromQL compatible, it provides features like an alert catalog, alert routing based on teams & services, and periodic review of alert staleness. You can also perform advanced tasks, such as correlating them with events, while focusing on the desired outcome of keeping up with constantly evolving infrastructure and services.

    • Deployment models

We provide Levitate in "Bring your own cloud" as a managed offering. The managed offering eliminates engineering toil and hidden egress data transfer costs. With the tiered storage, Prometheus agents can become just lightweight transmitters. Say goodbye to storage and data retention concerns. This improves the efficiency and reliability of your observability tooling and reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by up to 50%.

What do you like best about the product?
I can easily find logs for services with errors. The dashboards are awesome! Using the dashboard, I can easily view the performance of each service, see which services are in good health, and identify those with issues. Additionally, I can see which services take longer to respond.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a new user, it can sometimes be challenging to understand the system and set up the dashboards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When a user encounters an issue, I can go to Lat9 to view the logs from that specific time to identify the actual problem. This helps me pinpoint and resolve issues users experience when using our app

    Best for debugging critical issues

    Reviewed on Nov 13, 2024
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Last9 for 6 months, and it has proven to be invaluable for debugging purposes. It has significantly reduced our debugging time, especially during critical issues.

Before implementing Last9, we frequently struggled with database connection issues that were difficult to diagnose. After integrating Last9, I can now effectively track connection states across our services. The platform provides clear visibility into connection states (idle, stuck, busy) for each service, allowing us to quickly identify and focus on problematic services.

One of Last9's standout features is its robust alerting mechanism. When our database connection pool approaches capacity, Last9 automatically triggers alerts in our Slack channel. This proactive notification system has greatly enhanced our system reliability by allowing us to address potential issues before they become critical.

The platform has transformed our debugging workflow from a time-consuming process into a streamlined, efficient operation. It has become an essential tool in maintaining our system's reliability and performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
One minor drawback of Last9 is its user interface, which isn't particularly user-friendly. I find it somewhat challenging to locate specific metrics and logs within the platform. The navigation could be more intuitive to help users quickly find the information they need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Last9 is focused on making systems more reliable and scalable, and it has proven to be invaluable in helping us solve critical issues and monitor the overall health of our system.
