You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance type. Each pricing line matches one instance size, so you select the machine that fits your streaming workload. The many options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, and specialized families, in sizes from small (like t3.nano) up to large bare-metal and multi-socket machines. Larger or more capable instances carry higher hourly rates. There is no upfront commitment; charges accrue only while an instance runs. Scale by starting more instances or moving to a bigger size as your live streaming demand grows.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each hourly rate covers the OvenMediaEngine Enterprise software license running on one Amazon EC2 instance of the size you pick. One instance-hour is one running hour of that single machine. The rate is separate from the underlying AWS compute charge, which AWS bills alongside it.
Software charges accrue only while an instance runs. A stopped or paused instance stops the hourly software meter. You may still pay AWS for attached storage on a stopped instance, but the software license itself meters running time only.
You scale by moving to a machine with more resources or by starting more instances. Each running instance adds its own hourly charge to your bill. Charges combine additively across every instance you run, so cost tracks the number and size of active machines.
