Hermes Agent provides a self-hosted inference server for NousResearch Hermes models and other open-weight large language models optimised for agentic tasks. It supports structured function calling, tool use, and constrained JSON output, making it suitable for building AI agents, code assistants, and automated pipelines. The server exposes an OpenAI-compatible API so existing integrations and SDKs work without modification. Run it on your own infrastructure for data privacy, predictable latency, and cost control compared to managed inference endpoints.
Highlights
OpenAI-compatible API means existing SDKs, LangChain, and AutoGen integrations work with no code changes
Native structured function calling and JSON mode for reliable tool use in agentic and automation workflows
Self-hosted inference keeps sensitive prompts within your own VPC with no data leaving your account
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
This listing uses a single usage-based dimension. You pay an hourly software fee for each running container task. The clock runs only while a task is active, so your cost tracks actual runtime. Because this is self-hosted, you run the containers in your own AWS environment. Billing scales directly with how many container tasks you run and how long each stays active. There are no tiers or fixed commitments to choose between.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one billable container task for the hourly fee?
A container task is a single running instance of the agent in your AWS environment. You pay for each task that is active. Running several tasks at once means each one accrues its own hourly fee. The count tracks how many tasks are running concurrently.
Am I charged when a container task is stopped or idle?
The hourly software fee applies only while a task is running. A stopped task does not accrue the software fee. Because this is self-hosted, you may still pay underlying AWS compute or storage costs for the resources behind the task, but the software meter counts active runtime only.
Does my cost rise if I run more agent tasks at the same time?
Yes. The fee is charged per running container task per hour. Each additional active task adds its own hourly charge. Cost scales with both the number of concurrent tasks and how long each one runs. There are no tiers, so every task bills at the same hourly rate.

Containers are lightweight, portable execution environments that wrap server application software in a filesystem that includes everything it needs to run. Container applications run on supported container runtimes and orchestration services, such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS). Both eliminate the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software by managing and scheduling containers on a scalable cluster of virtual machines.
AWS Support is a one-on-one, fast-response support channel that is staffed 24x7x365 with experienced and technical support engineers. The service helps customers of all sizes and technical abilities to successfully utilize the products and features provided by Amazon Web Services.
