Grafana Cloud is a fully managed, composable observability platform that brings together Prometheus metrics, logs, traces, and more with Grafana visualizations. The platform is powered by Grafana Labs' highly scalable and performant open source observability software - Grafana Mimir for metrics, Grafana Loki for logs, and Grafana Tempo for traces - and integrates with 100+ external data sources, including AWS CloudWatch, Elasticsearch, Graphite, and InfluxDB. Grafana Cloud is also integrated with Grafana k6 for performance and load testing and Grafana Incident and Grafana OnCall for managing your incident response workflow. Whether you are just getting started with observability or already have tools in place, Grafana Cloud lets you focus on getting the most out of observability, without the overhead of building, installing, maintaining, and scaling your own stack.
Self-serve pricing starts at $19 / month with included monthly usage and the following monthly pricing as you scale:

Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

Each service uses its own unit. Metrics bill per 1,000 active series. Logs and traces bill per gigabyte. A host is any OS instance sending signals in the last 15 minutes, billed per active host hour. Sessions, active users, and test executions each carry their own separate meters.
No. Your bill sums active host hours across the month. A host counts as active only if it sent a signal in the last 15 minutes. Hosts spun down over weekends or off-peak hours do not accrue host-hour charges for that period.
You pay the monthly platform fee plus per-unit charges only for usage above the included allowances. Rates are tiered, so the effective per-unit price drops automatically as consumption crosses higher volume bands. This applies independently for each service, such as metrics series or gigabytes ingested.

What is our primary use case?
I find Grafana offers easy customization for simple or standard customer dashboards and integrates natively within Amazon Web Services (AWS).
How has it helped my organization?
Unfortunately, we had no improvements in our organization because Grafana is only suited for simple dashboards. It shows several limitations and rigidity when creating operations analytics.
What is most valuable?
The easy customization of simple or standard dashboards and the integration within AWS are valuable features.
What needs improvement?
The administration is a total disaster. They accept only credit cards for payments and do not allow bank transfers. They periodically lose details and authorization of our credit cards for mysterious, unknown reasons.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used the solution for 1 year.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We are looking into another product to avoid limits in graphic customization and messy administration.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Pricing is another big issue. Grafana becomes very expensive if you want to have a web interface, making it absolutely non-competitive.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I am not ready to disclose our options.
What other advice do I have?
Rating is 1-2 max. Grafana is an easy and quick tool for basic or simple dashboards. However, it is too rigid for operations analytics, the web version is too expensive, and the administration is such a disaster . I fully discourage people from my network from using it.
