Daily reporting has become faster and reports are now written with fewer errors
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Writer is in my daily production activities, specifically creating daily reports. I need to provide a daily analysis of the activities performed within our team, and I share that report with my manager, which helps me create those reports.
What is most valuable?
The best features that Writer offers are the auto-correction, the auto-framing of sentences, and minimizing grammatical mistakes. I particularly appreciate that feature.
Writer has positively impacted my organization and my work by helping to reduce the daily manual effort of creating reports through the use of AI, allowing us to invest more time in other important activities.
What needs improvement?
I find that everything seems to be functioning well with Writer, and nothing is frustrating at this moment.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been familiar with Writer for the past two to three years.
What other advice do I have?
My advice for someone considering using Writer is that they should use it so they can also incorporate it into their daily productivity activities to minimize the manual effort in repetitive tasks. I would rate this product a 9 out of 10.
Improves team writing clarity and consistency but has needed more context-aware and faster support
What is our primary use case?
The main use case for Writer is to improve and standardize writing, especially across the team. For example, if I'm writing a report or documentation, it can help refine the tone, fix the grammar, and make sure the content sounds more professional and consistent. A simple explanation would be if I write something such as, 'This data is kind of confusing and not very clear,' Writer would suggest something such as, 'This data lacks clarity and requires further analysis.' Overall, Writer is mainly used to polish content, maintain consistency, and make writing more professional, especially in work or team settings.
What is most valuable?
For me, the best features of Writer are mainly around real-time writing improvement and consistency, which is where I see the most value. The feature I would probably use the most is the real-time suggestions. It gives instant feedback on grammar, tone, and clarity while writing so that I don't have to go back and edit everything later. I also appreciate the idea of Style Guides and Terminology management, especially in a team setting. It helps make sure everything follows the same tone and uses the right terms, which is really useful when multiple people are working on the content. Another useful feature is AI content generation or pre-built templates, where you can quickly create drafts for things such as reports or documentation and then refine them.
Writer is not just about fixing sentences; it's also really useful for maintaining consistency across different types of content, especially when multiple people are writing. For example, in a team setting, everyone might have different writing styles. Writer helps make sure everything follows a consistent tone and structure, which is important for things such as reports, documentation, or even internal communication. From my perspective, since I worked with data and reporting, Writer can help make technical or data-heavy content easier to understand, which is really important when sharing insights with non-technical stakeholders. Overall, I see Writer as more of a tool for standardizing and simplifying communication, not just basic grammar correction.
What needs improvement?
From my experience working with the CST, where communication needs to be clear, accurate, and timely, a tool such as Writer could definitely be helpful, but there are a few areas where it could be better. One thing is that sometimes AI suggestions from Writer can feel a bit too generic or not fully context-aware, especially when dealing with sensitive communication or student-specific situations. In those cases, I would still need to manually adjust the tone to make sure it's appropriate and empathetic. Another thing is that in a fast-paced environment such as CST, where I'm managing scheduling and coordinating with students and faculty, I would want Writer to be very quick and seamless. If it slows down the workflow or requires too much interaction, it can be frustrating. It would also be helpful if Writer could better adapt to institution-specific language or policies, since a lot of our communication follows certain guidelines. Overall, Writer is useful for improving clarity, but I would appreciate seeing it become more context-aware, faster, and better aligned with real-world workflows, especially in environments such as student services.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been familiar with Writer for quite a while and have used it occasionally to improve the writing quality, tone, and clarity in different types of content.
What other advice do I have?
If someone is considering Writer, you can use it as a support tool rather than relying on it completely. It works really well to improve clarity, maintain consistency, and speed up writing, especially in team environments where multiple people are creating content. Features such as the real-time suggestions and Style Guides are useful to keep everything aligned. At the same time, I recommend spending some time to understand how Writer fits into your workflow because it's more of an enterprise-focused platform with collaboration and automation features, not just a simple writing tool. I would also suggest always reviewing and refining the output, since it's AI-generated and can sometimes feel generic or miss context. Overall, I'd suggest starting small, integrating Writer into your workflow, and using it to enhance your writing, not replace your thinking. I gave this review a rating of 7.
Great for Content Development, Needs Better Guidance
Offline editing has supported long-term document work and signing in varied network conditions
What is our primary use case?
My main use case for Writer is creating documents, editing a document for signing, and formatting a document. For those purposes, I used Writer , and I feel comfortable with it. Recently, I used Writer for creating a freelance agreement document.
What is most valuable?
What I liked about using Writer for that freelance agreement is that it has all the formatting features. Usually, Google Docs is compatible only for online features, but Writer allows me to edit offline as well, which was a significant advantage.
The best features Writer offers are editing, signing, and converting it into any downloadable format. I can use it offline and share it with anyone, either as a link or as a file. Out of those features, I find myself using offline editing and converting most often. I use Writer usually and often on a regular basis. I need to have both features in parallel, and I feel that offline editing is more compatible because sometimes there are network issues in the rainy season, so offline editing is essential. This is the main advantage, unlike Google Docs which does not support that.
Writer has definitely helped me personally with my work. Usually, Writer is the only app that I always keep downloaded. I never delete it because it is more compatible and easier for me to use.
What needs improvement?
If Writer could convert images into any format like WebP and resize them or convert them to JPG, PNG, or any format, that would be great because it would reduce the document size and make it more compatible.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Writer for approximately six to seven years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Writer is stable for me with no issues or crashes.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Writer can definitely handle it in all ways if my needs grow. Most of the companies I know, which I have worked with, usually prefer Writer over Google Docs.
How are customer service and support?
I have not had any chance to meet or contact customer support for Writer, but I am sure that the service will definitely be great.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Previously, I used Google Docs and switched to Writer because Google Docs is completely online, and in offline format, it feels too heavy. I had to switch from Google Docs to Writer.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding pricing, if I ever had a chance where I want to update or use multiple features, I would like to go to the pro version, but currently, I do not need that. I think the pricing is good as I checked those prices, and they seem reasonable. The setup will definitely be easy, and I do not face any issues. I have also heard that customer support is easy for me to use.
What other advice do I have?
If a person can use Writer and work on the same document, that would be great. I am not sure whether that feature is there or not, but there is no frustrating feature about Writer. All the features are good and easy to use. I rate Writer 10 out of 10 because all the features that I prefer are there in Writer, and I feel it is a good choice. There is nothing frustrating about Writer thus far. Writer is the best choice and can help in formatting, editing, and converting files into any format. In today's time, I do not think Google Docs can compete with Writer as it is outstanding.
