Sizes range from small shared instances up to large metal configurations. Larger instances with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware carry higher hourly rates. There are no tiers or upfront commitments. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, and ThinkCloud provides support for the software.

What does the hourly rate cover, and what am I responsible for separately?
The hourly rate covers the software license for Amazon Corretto Java 21 on Amazon Linux 2023, plus support from ThinkCloud. You pay the underlying Amazon EC2 compute charges separately. Your total cost combines this software rate and the AWS infrastructure cost for the instance you choose.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this software license. You are billed only for the hours each instance actually runs.
How does my bill change if I switch to a larger instance type?
The rate depends only on the instance type you select. Moving to a type with more CPU, memory, or specialized hardware raises the hourly software rate. There is no tier or commitment. The change applies immediately to the new instance for the hours it runs.
