Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

You pay a mandatory Platform Fee as the base subscription. On top of that, five usage meters bill separately by the volume of observability data you send. Four meters count telemetry signals per million per month: metric samples, log events, trace spans, and GenAI/LLM spans. Trace spans exclude GenAI spans, which carry their own meter with prompt, completion, token, and cost detail. The fifth meter counts browser and mobile RUM sessions per thousand per month. Each meter scales independently with your usage, so you pay for the signal types and volumes you actually ingest.

What counts as one RUM session for billing on the sessions meter?
A RUM session is one browser or mobile monitoring session. Base14 combines both web and mobile sessions under one meter, billed per 1,000 sessions per month. Session tracking captures device model, OS version, network type, and battery state automatically, but each session still counts as a single billed unit.
Why do trace spans and GenAI/LLM spans use separate meters?
General trace spans bill on one meter and explicitly exclude GenAI spans. GenAI/LLM spans bill on their own meter because each carries extra detail: the prompt, completion, token counts, and cost. Sending LLM telemetry accrues charges on the GenAI meter, not the standard trace span meter.
Which meters drive my bill, and how do the platform fee and usage meters combine?
You pay the mandatory Platform Fee every month as a fixed base. The five usage meters then bill independently by the volume of each signal type you ingest. Your total adds the platform fee plus each meter's charge. High-volume signal types, such as logs or spans, typically drive the largest usage portion.
